"Stay here and thank me later!"

10.0

Ok, my experience here was everything I had hoped for and more. I didn’t want to stay in the city, outskirts in a comfy B&B was exactly what I wanted and it’s what I got. Arriving we had to drive down a 2 mile dirt/gravel road and when we arrived the outside of the building looked like an old biker bar. My wife shot me a look like you wouldn’t believe but once we got in the room she was over the moon happy. There are only 6 rooms and we were in number 7. I know, the rooms were numbered 1-4 and 7-8. Ask for 7, a triple room with private bathroom as it’s the only room with a back patio. The room was gorgeous and so comfy, tons of space. Big shower and as I said, a sliding glass door with a private patio overlooking the black sand beach and ocean. The ladies running the place were super sweet and breakfast was very good. My daughter loved the waffles and the fresh baked croissants did the trick for the wife and I. You’ll need to go into Hofn for dinner as there isn’t much to get on site, but it’s an easy 20 minute drive with several great restaurants to choose from. Keep in mind you must check in between 4-8 so if you show up late, no one is on-site to help you, but as long as you are capable of showing up on time, this is a great find. The on-site activities, Viking village and norad station are cool too but the room and service would have me coming back again and again if I ever visit Iceland again.

"Excellent Guesthouse near Vestrahorn"

10.0

The guesthouse is located in a fantastic location just next to the Vestrahorn Mountain and allows you to access the parking facilities in Stokksnes to see the mountain and the Viking Village. The guesthouse also offers a nice breakfast and the staff members were all very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and as described.

Located down a long deserted dark road. No food near by. Eat before you get here! Restaurant was closed when we arrived, we starved all night. No one on site, we had to guess as to where we were supposed to go. The room was adequate. Was directly on the water, but dark when we arrived and left so we could not not enjoy it. Breakfast was great and the staff was friendly.

"Disappointed 😞 "

4.0

Upon arrival it was beautiful area. The staff where very friendly. The room however was disappointing it looked clean on the inside but then I found bed bug on the pillow and blood on the inside of the blanket. We told the front desk people and showed them pictures and they didnt believe it was a bed bug told me to be quiet aboht it and then they changed the bedding and gave us 2 alcoholic beverages. So nice place and people but in our case we where disappointed and had to sleep in our car. :(

Nice cozy property at a beautiful place, great scenery and very nice and friendly staff. The place has a bonus onsite black beach and a village where the series Vikings was filmed. Everything was great

Highly recommended! I live in Iceland and go on roadtrips frequently - this is a really great place to stay, the location is truly stunning. The accommodation might look unassuming from the outside but inside is very modern and clean. We stayed in the triple room which is very quiet, spacious and next to the horse stables - yes, you can also rent horses here. We got a chance to talk to one friendly man who welcomed us when we arrived - he told us this is his family farm where he grew up. There is a NATO radar station on site and he explained a bit about the history and how the US and British armies were also stationed here for many years. Someone else has complained about the check-in times - it is very clear on this website and in the email confirmation that check-in is between 4-8pm. A note about getting there - the road is right before the tunnel into the mountain when you are leaving Höfn heading north on route 1. There is a gravel road to follow on the side of the mountain to get to the cafe/guesthouse. The breakfast is great.

Friendly staff, nice location, nice and clean room. Only negative thing to say is about thin walls/noise but it didn't bother me much really.
