Viking Café Guesthouse

We were in Iceland during a bad storm and the road to get to Höfn and the Viking Cafe was closed. We physically could not get there even if we did want to drive in the storm. Despite contacting the hotel and Expedia, no one would refund us. I guess they wanted us to cross a closed road to get to the hotel? Ridiculous

Absolute gem for remote nature lovers. At night there is noone but a few more tourists in the same guesthouse, surrounded by mountains and ocean (will need a drive to either). Very rustic surrounding but very comfortable accommodation. Amazing staff at the Cafe itself. Surreal Stokksnes.

Wonderful stay! We felt so welcome upon arrival. We were walked to our room and when they found out we had to leave early before breakfast, they prepared a to-go bag of fruit, bread and jam, cinnamon rolls, croissants, yogurt, ham, and juice. It was so much food and such a nice gesture to make sure we were taken care of. The desserts offered in the cafe were so good - definitely try the carrot cake! We also ate dinner at the Cafe; the sandwiches were delicious and everything was so fresh. Highly recommend staying here. It is simple accommodations with the most beautiful landscape and wonderful, personal customer service, and inexpensive too. We had one issue where the door would not stay shut without being locked, as it seemed to have a problem that needed to be corrected, but it was minor.

Basic but very functional . Rooms were warm and quiet, beds very comfortable . Certainly not swanky but i would definatrly stay there again as its simplicity is its charm. This is definately a location location location spot . We were given several tokens also for entry to the Stokksnes peninsula which was why we were there.

We had such an excellent stay at this hotel! You absolutely cannot beat the location. You get access to the beach as well as the Viking Village. You can also interact with the nicest, friendliest horses ever! The breakfast was fantastic - we definitely recommend the waffles! The staff was kind and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay here again!

Kind and comfortable

Stunning location (hard to find though, they need to give clear instructions how to get there), very spacious and clean room with a patio. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Our breakfast was included, very convenient. Super comfortable mattresses. Two minutes drive to Viking village that was build to make a movie. Will definitely stay here again.

The Viking Guesthouse was a special memory on our return trip to Iceland. We had a medium-sized room, but one filled with multiple beds, tables and chairs. It is located on the horse farm that is part of the Vestrahorn property, to which we were given full access. Breakfast was good, and access to the restaurants in Hofn was a short drive away. With open access to the property, we were able to enjoy sunrise and sunset views of the Vestrahorn Mountain, repeatedly watch the lively prancing horses, and hike the beach and rock areas at our leisure. We stayed two nights, giving ourselves a break from driving. We highly recommend these unusual accommodations.

Very good breakfast with a good selection of items available. A gluten free breakfast was requested in advance and this was provided The accommodation is in a fantastic location and reception will give you as many entry tickets for the beach etc as you want (included in the room rate). Ideal if you want to visit at different times of the day. Friendly staff and the room was clean and modern. No issues with parking with spaces for guests directly in front of the entry door to the rooms.
