Quality Inn Grand Rapids Near Dowtown

Hostess was very pleasant and accommodating, switched our room without issue when the heating/cooling unit was not working at checkin, breakfast area was clean and well stocked, but the rest of the hotel was rundown,, Rooms smelled of bug spray and had a red roof Inn type of feel. Although location is great, it was not the type of Quality Inn we have come to expect. Not even for the 100.00 we paid, plus when we were moved to a different room, the bed was smaller..

Looks very dangerous to me. The people next to my room had their volume so high I was unable to sleep the whole night. Even after several calls to front desk they refused to slow down the volume.

It was clean but we did not like the smell of the room.

Close to many local attractions. TV didn’t work properly upon arrival. Had to call front desk from our cell phone because room phone had no instructions for calling front desk. When she came to fix it she rebooted it several times and as soon as it got a picture she said “it’s good now” had to call her back less than 5 minutes later. She rebooted it a few more times and said”it’s not working sorry” we asked if we could have another room or discount. She said no let me work on it. We had to call three hours later to find out if anything was gonna be done about it they then moved it into a room with a broken bathroom door, not many towels and not clean it wasn’t a very good experience.

I think for the price you can not expect much.

This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'll start by saying the front end staff at check in was really good but everything after that was awful!!! I opened the room door to find the cleaning lady still inside, so I went and sat in my car until she finsihed (2.5 hours after check in time). There was used tissue and a pizza box left in the room. The bathtub faucet was constantly running hot water which kept the room disgustingly humid the entire time. Not to mention how annoying that is to listen to. The bathroom door had clearly been kicked in and the shower rod was barely attached. The neighbors on all sides of the room were up all hours smashing doors, yelling, fighting, bashing around. Not a single night was quiet. We couldn't leave our room at night because there was always people fighting outside our door. No one ever answered at the front desk to remedy the situation, it was literally four days straight of this. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, this property needs a ton of work.

The bathtub look like it had blood we open the window and there was brown paint painted on the windows. The bathroom door lock was busted and hanging so if you went to the bathroom you had to use your foot told the door closed.

Our stay was okay. A few issues: No elevator so you have to use the steps if your room is on the second floor. There was one person working both check-out and breakfast when we left on Saturday morning at 8 AM so we had to wait a bit. The smoke alarm was missing from our room but when I mentioned that at check-out he made a note of it. Hopefully that will get replaced.
