The Fountain Inn - Fort

I was contacted by the property while in transit demanding a deposit payment, though my booking was to pay at the property. They asked me to make direct bank transfer, which I was not comfortable with. I had booked a 7am check in, paying for the previous night accommodation however when we arrived to the property they informed us that as they hadn't received a deposit & as we didn't check in they gave the room away. They provided an alternate box room for a couple of hours however still charged for the original double room we booked.

Good location, close to the CSMT railway station and the Gateway of India. The price was cheap. The wifi was free and quite fast. The front desk clerk was friendly.

It was the dirtiest and noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel room was old furniture, very small and filthy. The whole room could use a good clean, rather than a surface wipe. See photos attached of some of the surfaces on the room, especially the bathroom. Not for the feint hearted. Additionally the room was at the back of the property, which overlooked a building site/rubbish dump, which was extremely noisy. We could hardly hear ourselves speaking to each other in the room at normal volume. This noise continued all day from 0700 in the morning and late into the night until round 0300, with a small break between 2200-0100. We could still hear it with earplugs in as we tried to sleep.

Rooms are very small, i booked through booking.com and they cancelled it without any reason to avoid commission and asked to pay them directly

Hotel is inside , There is no space in front of hotel to park vehicle. Room is too small.
