"An expensive letdown."

Others said this hotel was “dated” but “clean and tidy” with “comfy beds”. This was all we were hoping for but unfortunately it was not the case. The room was grubby and very tired. Vacuuming hadn’t been done under the curtains. The ceiling was a once-white dirty sprayed concrete that was splitting from the walls. There was a long black hair attached to the bath mat. The bed was uncomfortable, pillows were wafer thin and we hadn’t been told until the day before that the restaurant, bar and in-room dining were closed. Only breakfast was served in the restaurant. We asked on the first evening if we could buy some bottled water to drink and were told to boil the kettle and let it cool and drink that! Won’t be going back. It’s amazing how the images can tell a totally different story of what the place is actually like.

Very old and dated. Shower heads need to be changed, no ceiling lights. Old style shower over bath with a clingy shower curtain that needed repair.
