"Work travel"

This is my review of the Homewood Suites hotel in Kansas City MO, located near the international airport. Iโ€™ve stayed here previously in the last year, and have had good experiences and good service. On June 29, 2025, I checked in here for a 4 day work related trip and I discovered that now I have to pay to park. And I also found out the hotel that I stayed at the previous week is also going to charge for parking. Now I will say that I have a clean room and all that, but stillโ€ฆ. I donโ€™t know how other people think of this, but in my opinion, thatโ€™s nickel and diming people, given the high cost of pretty much everything these days. All this because of proximity to an airport. Bad business practice in my opinion. If paying a hotel near a airport to self park doesnโ€™t bother you, so be it. If it does, then letโ€™s show these hotels the error of that decision by not giving your patronage.

"Do Not Stay Here!"

If you were going to stay at this hotel, it will likely be because itโ€™s the only one available. There are trash cans and dirty towels in the hallways because we were told management does not employ more than two cleaning staff. They only have three floors, only clean every other day, only do nothing more than empty the trash, change the towels and make the bed, and they still canโ€™t get it done in two days. Weโ€™ve stayed here twice this summer and were given the same excuse both times. Some of the rooms smell like smoke. A the second time we stayed, they charged daily for parking, but it is not published on their website. The staff was rude and dismissive.I will never stay here again again, and would not recommend it for anyone.

The staff were nice, but the property is dated and needs lots of TLC. In our room, the electric window curtains were ripped and non-functional, shower looked a bit dirty and some of the floor tile had cracks, beds weren't very comfortable, the bedroom TV didn't work, and the ceiling fan barely spun. Overall, just an okay property if you want to be near the airport.
