Very friendly staff, warm cosy pub environment with good beer. Restaurant food was exceptional. Room and en-suite a good size and very comfortable (Home Guard). Breakfast quality outstanding with local produce. Would definitely stay again.

Our room was beautiful, with a massive bathroom and roll top bath, however…. For our 2 night stay we had no heating. Luckily it wasn’t too cold in February, but would have been nicer if the room was a bit warmer for me. Breakfast was outstanding and the chef knocked up a proper English breakfast. One older lady who served us breakfast one morning was a little highly strung / panic mode and was more worried about bookings. Which left us all a bit tense after breakfast, but the next day a young man served us and he was relaxed and calm, which made for a lovely breakfast. I would definitely stay again, great bar staff. We went for a wedding nearby and booking staff helped us get taxis and were so super helpful and friendly.

After coming for a delicious Sunday lunch last year we knew we wanted to come back again for a relaxing night away without our kids. The Cat and Custard Pot is a charming historic venue in a pretty little village with lots of character. The roast beef was excellent and it was lovely to chill for the rest of the evening in the pub. Our room was light, clean and nicely furnished and we had a peaceful night, followed by a tasty breakfast the next morning. Overall good value for a relaxing night away in the countryside, we'll be back again.

One of my favourite places to stay. Always a warm welcome, a lovely room, great breakfast and lovely walks from the door. A lovely pub in a great location and super dog friendly.

What a great stay. From the moment we walked in the door we were made welcome. Our room was comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotless. Dinner was delicious and reasonable with nothing too much trouble and breakfast was the same. We are planning on coming back with friends as one night in such a pretty area just wasn’t enough.

This is a great pub, in a lovely location. Rooms are delightful and the manager/staff helpful and approachable without being overbearing. We dined in the chalet in the evening and the pizzas were marvellous, as was the wine. The breakfast was also fantastic. This was our second visit and we are already planning another!
