The B&B was very run down and needs a lot of work. The carpets, and bedding, especially the duvet and cover were very worm and in my opinion only fit for the bin. The bed had winter sheets in the summer. The location, although very convenient for the station, was very rough, with a lot of boarded up properties close by. I don't understand how it got such good reviews, which to me were misleading. The continental breakfast was very good and the landlady was nice but there were too many " don't do" notices, which is not welcoming. I have ve stayed in much better places in Blackpool for the same amount of money.

"Great value budget hotel by the gay nightlife and train station, with friendly hosts"

7.0

Booked months in advance. Paid £19 a night for a single room with a shared bathroom, absolute bargain. Alison called me on the morning of travel to check my arrival time. My plans changed after that, so I messaged her to let I know my new arrival time. I was met by Andy? on arrival, and all the details about the hotel were explained. I was allocated room 7 at the front. The hotel is quiet. No noise from other guests or traffic outside. Wifi was fast and reliable. The bed and pillows were firm and comfortable, just to my liking. My room had a sink, a comfortable chair, and a set of drawers. Plenty of tea and coffee were provided. Everything is fresh and clean. Breakfast is served at 8:30 until 10 at weekends, but I didn’t stay for that unfortunately. The room also had 8 plug sockets! Handy for the train station, the town centre, and gay nightlife. Parking on the street is free overnight, 90 mins in the day. I parked one street along, Queen St, £18 for 48 hours

Some minor points/feedback. Perhaps a desk and chair with a small desk lamp rather than the large chair (I brought my own anyway!) As you are sharing bathroom facilities, bear in mind that the other guests may not be as clean as you. Perhaps add loo blocks and air freshener? The shower was powerful (on the first floor), but there was some residue around the fixtures and on the wall, which could easily be removed. Just hooks to hang clothes on in the bedroom, perhaps provide a few coat hangers? If you let the front door go when it is almost shut, it slams shut loudly (I was right above it). You need to wiggle your key a little for it to unlock the front door.

Location

Poor breakfast choice just eggs with toast and cereals. The mattresses needs replacing and the beds base had ply wood screwed on top of it??? The shower tray abit slippery was using handle rail to prevent slipping too much. Needs a shower mat.

The welcome from the staff was fantastic and friendly. The bed was extremly comfortable. We stayed in room 9 quite small but showerroom a good size. It was nice and clean maybe a little tired in areas but for the price, service & location in Blackpool it really wasnt an issue. Breakfast is great, eggs, beans, or cheese on toast as hot options. Teas, coffes, juice available and a nice selection of cereals and items to help yourself to. Would we stay again? Absolutley
