DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Windy Hill Ballpark

They say they have a bar, and they do, but have no alcohol in the hotel. Complete bait and switch. The pictures must have been taken right after a remodel years ago because it’s not nearly as nice as the pictures portray. This is not even close to a 4 star hotel.

Bar was closed.

The indoor water is cold and without heat. The room door is hard to open and close.

You can tell that the property is old and they did some renovations to spruce it up. The doors are EXTREMELY heavy so you can hear people’s doors closing all throughout the day and night. Also, their plumbing must be old because you can randomly hear a screeching noise when people turn their water on. However, the staff and the other patrons were very nice and the location was ideal for what I needed to do for my short stay.

Great stay. Quiet and clean

As a frequent traveler for both business and pleasure, the guest experience in terms of room and dining quality has slipped dramatically over the past few years and I can't even blame it covid as it started before that. First the good - the mattress was great and I got a good night's sleep. The bad everything else, starting with check-in. My flight was delayed so I was not arriving until 6am the day after my arrival. In other hotels (including Hilton Properties), it is a non brainer - I simply check with the remote key and I never have to go to the front desk. At this property, I had to send in a credit card authorization form to allow the hotel to charge my card. It's kind of hard to print out a pdf form when you are traveling and then send it back when you don't have access to a printer. I am also leary of sending documents with credit card information to a generic hotel inbox. If I have a security breach - the hotel will be on the hook. Secondly, the room. It has not been refreshed in 20 years (or so it seems). The office chair was torn and stuffing falling out, the couch was sagging and stained, the chair was torn and stained. The remaining furniture was chipped, and heavily dinged. The bathroom needed re-grouting and its its obvious there is an ant problem. Lastly the food - Breakfast buffet was runny eggs, half cooked potatoes and limited selection of basic breakfast items, which obvious gotten from the local grocery store. I even tried ordering an omlete and again watery and running with very little of the ingrediants I requested included. When I asked to speak to a manager non was available, It's obvious to me that the hotel owners do not care as it is a cash cow sitting next to the ballpark and the hotel management company is equally worthless as they had not desire to resolve any of the issues I encountered.

It was average. Nothing spectacular nothing horribly wrong. The $18 for breakfast is not worth it.

Great place to stay liked it had a balcony . Will stay again .

The room was well kept. Easy check in process

Initial impression was great. Big beautiful lobby area with lots of work space. That’s when I noticed it was about 80 degrees in the lobby and restaurant/bar area, with music literally blaring throughout. I can’t take those kind of temps. Or volume. Night one I found out the restaurant/bar has no alcohol. Door Dashed a bottle of wine for my stay. It worked out cheaper than purchasing 5 glasses over multiple days, I’m sure, but the Door Dasher sent me a message via chat on their app asking me out. I’m almost 50 and wearing a wedding ring. Major uncomfortable vibes. Currently eating breakfast on day 2 ($16.95 charge for what would be complimentary elsewhere) and it’s so hot I ate as fast as I could and can’t wait to go outside or back to my room to cool off. Not to mention the music is so loud I couldn’t hear what the server was telling me. I felt bad for them, as they are also too warm due to the thermostat settings. Really wanted to enjoy downstairs common areas but felt like I was being tortured via heat and blaring pop tunes.
