Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Santa Fe

It was quiet.

Looked better in pictures. Beds were old. Room, bathroom and towels smelled like paint. Not a great area, so many homeless people walking around and on every corner within miles of the hotel.

Ok, initially I thought I made a terrible mistake. It’s hard to see from the road and we missed the only entrance. We took the next right to what we thought would lead us around and it turned out to be a trailer park. It does look a little sketchy. With some maneuvering we did go to the hotel entrance and based on what we initially saw we unloaded there, then parked the car. Once inside it’s better. Staff very friendly and attentive, breakfast area looked good, and a quick check in. Our room would be rated ok. It was clean. The bathroom good except the shower knob was loose. We handled it delicately. Internet was fine. Beds were good. Air conditioning was fine. Fairfield doesn’t give you much to put your luggage on but we managed. Wish they would install a long bench and some hooks on a wall. Breakfast was fine, with a good selection. We were there only for a night so we didn’t use anything else. This side of town gets better the further out you go. There is shopping in the area. Depends on what you need. Good for a short stay.

$200 charge for not cancelling room in time. I think. I believe the reservation had a problem and booked an extra room. I realized it when I checked to see if our rooms were booked. The payment was taken when we checked in,,

poorly managed

I’ve never been treated so rudely in my life by anyone, let alone at a hotel. The woman working the night of July 12 knew she was being obnoxious and so she literally came out of the back room covering her name tag. She refused to give me her name. Absolutely horrible.
