Howard Johnson by Wyndham Manteno

Very clean. Seems like most affordable hotels are dirty these days. Not this one.

The beds were comfortable and pillows were soft. Unfortunately that's about the only nice thing I have to say. The light cover in our bathroom was broken with the broken spring laying on the floor. Either our room hadn't been cleaned or no one bothered to pick it up. The tub handle was broken and poorly repaired with tape. This property charges a $100 deposit for incidentals, which is clearly marked. However, what my issue is, we were charged our room price plus $100 as a hold, and then upon checkout, an additional hold was placed for the price of the room. Instead of crediting $100, I now had double the room price plus $100 tied up in authorizations on my card. The owner/manager was the only person we saw all weekend, and the grab & go breakfasts were full of sugar and left a lot to be desired.

Not bad, but repairs such as handle in tub missing, taped over. Fair, not horrific, but not well kept up. But for just over $100, well, what do you expect nowadays.

I was really surprise by this HJ Wyndham and never stayed in one this bad, really moldy smelling, due to mold in walls and bathroom, and we were to tired to complain or exchange rooms>

The beds, and I cannot stress this enough, were the comfiest beds I have ever slept in and will probably ever sleep in throughout my entire life. I was almost angry at the fact that I’ll never be able to sleep in that comfy of a bed again. My sister and I would give the beds alone 100/10

Nice value. No breakfast though. They had a grab & go breakfast. Breakfast in a bag. Honeybun. Can of pineapple juice & nutrigraon bar. Probably due to covid

Upon inspection of the room, I found a used condom in the trash and the wrapper next to the bed. The clerk just smiled and gave me a new trash bag.The sink was also clogged my whole stay. When I checked out there were no notes or compensation for the condition of the room. I lived in Manteno which is a great town. I would not recommend staying here for I felt the staff was unaccountable for the conditions and lack of customer service. It was obvious by the conditions that friend or staff are using the rooms and have no respect for the paying customer.

Very quiet and comfortable!

Pleasant staff, and easy check in. Room is spacious and clean. Breakfast is limited and below expectations. It could use better presentation and choices.

Hope you like warm pineapple juice served in a paper bag. That was our breakfast option, along with a soggy bun and a energy bar. Oh yeah, no water in the shower? That was a bonus. All this for only $100 bucks a night.
