Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza

Location, charming decor.

Elevator was broke so it was quite a hike to our room. Staff was not overly helpful.

Location was perfect for exploring the historic part of Santa Fe. Rooms were quiet and clean.

Our room was a bit warmer than we prefer. It would have been good if the window opened to let in some fresh air.

I checked into Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza at around 11 PM after a long day of road trip driving. The outdoor temperature that night was 38°F. However, when I entered my room, I found that the AC was completely broken. I went to the front desk and they switched me to another room, but the AC in the second room was also not working. When I contacted the front desk again, they told me they couldn’t help check or fix the AC and that the only option was to switch rooms again. I was exhausted at that point, so I had no choice but to sleep in the cold room. I woke up multiple times during the night because it was freezing. The next morning, I tried to shower, but the room was still so cold that it gave me a headache. At checkout, I shared my experience with the front desk, and they gave me a manager’s email and said I could request a refund. I emailed immediately, but I never received any reply. What upsets me the most is that no one from Hilton management followed up, apologized, or provided any solution. For a brand like Hilton, this level of service is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed and will not be staying at Hilton again.

Honestly I respect the grift of the breakfast bait and switch. They lay out the same crappy buffet that every other Hilton offers for free, let you walk up and start eating, and then once you’re halfway done eating a hostess appears to charge you $50. Its a solid little scam! Oh also the shower literally only has ice cold or scalding hot water Concierge was pretty chill though

This hotel was the worst! I went with a tour group of 30+ people, arriving at 4:00 PM. Our guide called in advance and was assured that the keys would be waiting-NOPE. The Manager apologized and said that it was a due to new software and only 1 person had been trained. She took us to a room to wait and said that she would have beverages delivered-that never happened, apparently they did not have adequate staff available to complete her commitment. As people started to trickle out to their rooms I went to the Lobby to see what a hot mess they were. The phone was ringing constantly, and although there were 5 people behind the counter it was never answered. In the hour I waited for my key I saw people get theirs, only to return with complaints (several people were being reassigned to new rooms). Around midnight I had to call the front desk due to loud noise (it appeared that a group of homeless people had camped out in the hall). Miraculously the phone was answered-when I told them about their homeless “guests” the answer was “Again! Thanks, I’ll get security on it.” I will be contacting the tour group to strongly recommend they remove this hotel from their tour itinerary. The only positive thing I can say is that the food quality and service in the bar was excellent.

We stayed 2 nights. Great location for walking everywhere in the Plaza area. Rooms, hallways and lobby were clean. Staff was helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom size was good and furnishings were comfortable. Overall, this hotel is starting look dated and needs some TLC. Now for the bad; Our car was burglarized while parked in the hotel lot. No cameras and apparently no security, although we were charged $31 per night for parking. Bad ending to a fun escape.
