Spark by Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront

The oceanfront view was amazing.

I did not like the housekeeping staff telling lies about us having two dogs instead of the one we paid for upon check-in. For some reason housekeeping said they heard two dogs. Up until that time our dog had not barked at all. Then the same housekeeping staff said they knocked on our door 3-4 times. Which is absolutely false they never knocked at all. On top of that we were over charged by $100. We had to fight to get that refunded. The lone bright spot was Terri at the front desk. she was very helpful.

I was very unhappy with my stay; I think Hilton brand has dropped the ball with redoing these hotels and turning them into a Spark by Hilton. We stayed for a long weekend to have a reunion with some Old Navy buddies that I was on an aircraft carrier with over 40 years ago most of the other Hilton properties were a little on the expensive side and was able to find this one and by the pitchers online it looked nice. Well, when we got there, they were still going through renovation or had finished part of the way, and it looked disgusting. There were holes in the wall paint spread all over the place a very musty smell and carpet dryers blowing near the lobby I wouldn't recommend this hotel again Hilton has failed. Most of the rooms point towards the pool so the hotel is in the shape of a horseshoe you have a great beach view, but I think they didn't spend very much on upgrades in this hotel. Looking out the balcony window you can see a mess on the roof the people that were refurbishing the hotel. On the way out down the handicap ramp my wife slipped and lost her footing and landed on her tailbone bruising it. When we went in to report it, they said they would try and get it cleaned up and had her fill out an accident report and that was about it never heard from the management whatsoever. Although the hotel is in a great location on Atlantic Ave. surrounded by restaurants and other hotels, I think you may be willing to spend a few extra dollars and get something nicer.

The shampoo dispenser was empty i asked for it to be filled and it never was, there was a smell in the hallway, and the patio door wouldn't open and I had to wait for about an hour to have someone come fix it

I was unable to swim in the pool because there were chairs inside the water for 2 days. I was overcharged for the room an had to call the main hotel to get my deposit back

We are usually Hilton people so we wanted to see what the new Sharp brand was like. We were happy with the location and had a beach view from our balcony. Parking was across the street but we were able to unload our things at the front of the hotel. Our room was very clean and recently remodeled. The hallways and elevators obviously still need work. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate to start our day. Sharp is obviously a few steps down in the Hilton chain but has potential. We would probably stay at another Sharp for a one night stay but we would look for more on a longer stay.

The Manger was absolutely Amazing!!!! The rooms were super clean and beds were very comfy!

They were under construction the galls and pool area Def need upgrades. But was informed the will be done soon.

The hotel's location was perfect; however, the room and breakfast were underwhelming for the price paid.

It seems the cleaning staff has been impacted by the current political climate because there were used towels left in the hallways upon arrival until the entire next day.

Few issues with the room the bathmat had blood spots on it exhaust fan didnt work in bathroom and outlet was coming out of the wall
