My wife and daughter stayed at The Sultan Hotel & Residence Jakarta during the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships at the Indonesia Arena, and overall, it was a very good experience. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with daily bed linen changes and complimentary soft drinks, which was a nice touch. The breakfast was amazing, offering a great variety of local and international dishes, fresh fruits, and pastries. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful, always ready to assist with anything needed. The location was excellent, within walking distance from the Indonesia Arena, and the area felt safe even in the late evening, which made it convenient for them to walk back after the event.

However, while the hotel is rated as a five-star property, it does look quite dated in some areas and would certainly benefit from renovation and modernization. Some facilities and décor show their age, though everything was functional and clean. Another issue is that the hotel does not provide electric carts (buggies) for transporting guests within its large area, which would normally be expected in a hotel of this category. Instead, my wife and daughter were surprisingly offered a motorcycle ride to move between parts of the hotel, something quite unusual for a five-star establishment. The hotel’s entrance and exit routes are somewhat confusing and not very straightforward, which other guests have also mentioned. Drivers often had trouble finding the correct approach road.
