University Inn at San Luis Obispo

We had a night stay for our road trip from LA to SF. The room is clean and spacious. Hotel also provided snacks for breakfast like ham cheese pie, coffee and have microwave in the room. Value for money.

It was convienient to visit my friends at Cal Poly and shop around downtown.

They gave a us a crappy room that took us 6 different times to finally prop it open. From the get go I was like I am not dealing with a room where im potentially locking my stuff in. What if i get back late and find that I cant open the door. Well then I have no where to sleep and I wasted my money at what cost? We went to go tell the lady at the front desk and she goes “You’re young you should be strong enough to open it.” Just because I am young doesn’t mean I should be treated with less quality as any other paying customer. She then gave us another room, which was two full beds, when we paid for 1 queen bed. We told her we were not going to stay in our room because we were going to go hangout with our friends and watch a movie in Arroyo Grande. We are driving there to pick them up, and we get a call from the lady saying that we need to come back because there has been a mistake in the room situation. She goes “ you need to be back in the room that you were in because the customers that paid for that room are about to check in and all the other rooms are booked.” So we ended up having to go back and get our stuff out. We gave her the room key for the new room and she gave us a new room, to my surprise she had said that they were fully booked. So how did she have 4 new room keys for different rooms for the exact room I paid for? Anyways, I spent money on my movie tickets (40 dollars) and never got to watch it. Worst experience

Location perfect for Cal Poly

Unfortunately and through no fault of the Hotel, the power was out from noon until almost 9pm on our first night. No light, no heat, no hot water, no TV etc. The following morning, the hot water was luke warm at best. Breakfast was supposed to open at 7am however when we got there at 7.20am, it was locked up. I requested a partial refund from Booking.com but have not heard back.

It was close to the college

Pillows and bed terrible. Air conditioning so loud you couldn't use it. No comfortable chair to sit down plus no room to sit down any how.
