Howard Johnson by Wyndham Clearwater - Dunedin

The location was great. The beds were comfortable.

The desk staff were very surly, unpleasant and rude. The lamp was a burnt relic from 1972. The towels were so thin and stained and small, they barely dried you. The shower soap ran out the second day.

Front person staff very friendly and helpful. Easy check in process. Parking area near room entrance.

Very loud air conditioner unit. Bedding very old but clean. TV had no local channels, though we did check with staff at front desk and he had no explanation. Chairs in room very uncomfortable with no padding, just hard plastic.

Difficult to find at night because there was a lot of construction going on on the access road, but that's not their fault . . .

The room was fine. Clean and well appointed just as the pictures showed. It was just as advertised, no disappointments. The building itself was not as nice though. It's an older building and not quite up to par. Construction on the roadway frontage was inconvenient and added to the feeling of it being a budget hotel. Overall it was fine though.

Honestly if it wasn’t for the construction and spring break I’m sure this is top like for a motel.

No smoke detector in the room or fire suppression system.

Location was good. Bed was comfortable room was large. It reminded me of the Howard Johnson's my grandparents stayed in in the 60s.

No coffee maker in the room

DO NOT STAY !!!!! Our room was full with cockroaches !! We were supposed to stay 2 nights and we left after 4 hours!! (Room108)

Nothing. Absolutely nothing except lication

All of it. It was overpriced n owner or whomever worked all the days we were trapped there apparently thinks he is the no hospitality business. Rude n dismissive. Gave us attitude about extra towels. No coffee maker or coffee packets provided so I bought instant. 2nd day microwave sparked n smoked from a chicken tender n cheesy bread. Went up to tell him and he blamed me. And stared at me blankly. Could NOT have cared less. Asked him to switch it out as I walked by at least 8 empty rooms but he said no. So we had to go out n spend more money on good as we couldn’t re-heat what we had plus buy pre-made cold brew coffee. I get up at 4am so coffee at 6 doesn’t work. I’ve stayed so many places including motel 6 that blew this hellhole out of the water. Huge waste of 313 bucks. I’m doing google review as well as reaching out to Wyndham. I think they would want to hear how their brand is suffering. Negative score if I could
