Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago Schaumburg Woodfield

We stayed here over New Year’s Eve and the experience was genuinely disappointing. This property is rundown, poorly maintained, and felt trashy, which is shocking for a brand that usually promises consistency and comfort. Common areas looked worn and dirty, rooms were outdated, and overall upkeep was clearly lacking. It felt like the hotel hasn’t seen real investment or care in years. Service on New Year’s Eve was especially poor. Staff appeared overwhelmed and disengaged, basic requests took far too long (if they were handled at all), and there was zero sense of hospitality during what should be one of the hotel’s busiest and most important nights of the year. For the price and expectations tied to the Embassy Suites name, this was nowhere close to acceptable. We won’t be returning, and I would strongly caution others—especially families or anyone booking for a holiday stay—to look elsewhere. Sometimes a hotel just misses the mark. This one missed it by a mile.

Couldn’t figure out where to park because everything said park on your own expense. There wasn’t enough staff to check us in. We had to wait a very long time. We get to a room and they’ve left wrappers and other things in a hotel room that the cleaning service didn’t clean up before we got there. The food sucked and very overpriced. It was way too difficult to find the way into the pool and also to find the ice machine. We got charged for what the cleaning service didn’t clean up before we got there. And when I talked to them on the phone, they told me it was mine and not anyone else’s.

The pool heater was broke.

Nice hotel with some good amenities however it needs a facelift. Our family of 6 stayed one night. At checkin we were told the pool heater had broken which was very disappointing for our 4 children. Shortly thereafter they updated us that it was repaired and working. The evening reception was a nice perk to the evening as was the made-to-order hot breakfast. The bed & pillows were comfortable and the room was clean. The reception area is really pretty but on closer look a lot of the building needs repairing. The staff were all very friendly and smiley. Overall it was a nice stay for the price.

Nothing, it was the worst embassy suites I had stayed at.

It felt dirty and not super friendly. The breakfast was nasty! Crunchy eggs and hard biscuits.

Was a pleasant experience even though it was snowing outside. Gym was clean and included necessary equipment. Lobby was airy and had a good vibe to it.
