Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston

Everything, from the moment we were pulled up and were greeted at the valet, to checking in, up through checkout, was a pleasure. Everyone we encountered or interacted with was polite, extremely helpful, friendly and truly went the extra mile... Especially Cornelius! The staff at the Fairmount Copley clearly take pride in their job and it shows! It was one of the best experiences i've had in a hotel 30+ years. Staying at the gold level , the food and drinks were amazing. The thoughtfulness of everybody working behind the scenes to ensure delicious food and everything being well stocked was very much appreciated. It was so amazing. I am looking into other Fairmont properties to experience the gold level. Thank you everyone for all your hard work to keep a place as large as that running smoothly.

Beautiful hotel. Perfectly located

Excellent location. Great bar. Great breakfast. The building is beautiful but my room 121 needed an update.

The hotel lobby is stunning and steeped in history, giving it a charming and nostalgic ambiance. However, some features feel a bit dated; for instance, the bedroom doors have an old-fashioned design, and light from the hallway can seep into the rooms. The accommodations are comfortable and generally average. When you first arrive, there’s a slight musty smell in the hotel, but you quickly adapt to it, it’s definitely different from the standard hotel scent. Overall, it’s a unique experience with plenty of character!

Wonderful and efficient staff!

Totally overpriced. Rooms were in horrible condition and dated. Pillows gave me massive neck problems. Mini fridge was nowhere to be found instead there was a note saying there being upgraded. For the price, this was not worth it. I thought I was bringing my wife on a premium experience for a quick romantic getaway… but it didn’t live up to the name or reputation.

We chose this hotel primarily for its promised security, but our stay turned out to be quite traumatic. One night, we experienced a horrifying situation when someone knocked forcefully on our door and attempted to push their way in. The only thing that prevented them from entering our room was the safety lock we had engaged. To make matters worse, our attempts to reach the lobby for assistance went unanswered, leaving us feeling vulnerable and scared. Later, we learned that the lobby staff had mistakenly given our room number to another guest, granting them access to our room without authorization, even though we had been staying there for two days. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled, and we cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. Security should always be a priority, and unfortunately, it felt neglected during our stay.

This is a very tired hotel. We like old hotels but at this price point it should be in better shape. Doors don't close because of years of paint build up. Ceiling was chipping. Brass is tarnished. Hallways are dusty. Restaurant had food on the floor when we went to brunch. Water pressure was weak and AC wasn't strong. Fairmont needs to drop this one from their collection or close it down and do a complete, top-to-bottom restoration. the old place deserves one.

This is a wonderful hotel that is badly in need of a total restoration. We love old hotels but not ones that haven't been updated. Next time we'll stay around the corner at Raffles, pay a little more, and get a much more up-to-date experience.

Always a classic; service levels are as expected (quite good but this isn't a 5-star hotel and isn't priced as one). Cori isn't the world's most enthusiastic lab but she's still great; my daughter looked forward to meeting her going in and out of the hotel, which is exactly why I chose it. Will be back!
