Delta Hotels by Marriott Kamloops

A necessary stop over on a gold leaf Rocky Mountaineer trip from Jasper to Vancouver. It is obviously difficult for the train company to maintain the food and service standards to the half way hotel. It’s kind of understandable as Kamloops is a stop off / halfway area. However, the air on / heating was so loud, we had to turn it off. The noise in the corridors stopped at about 10:20 pm. The pool seemed to be accessed from the second floor, so a higher room is recommended. There was only one tea bag ( English breakfast). Room service did bring us an extra blanket as this was needed. Hard to be too negative, we left before breakfast, and went out for dinner with friends staying at the Sandman. All in all we felt this is a three (3) star hotel, and is ok for that level. Not much choice in Kamloops

Excellent hotel and friendly staff

My Husband and I stayed overnight at the Delta Kamloops, whilst returning to Vancouver Island, after a visit to our family in Calgary. We’ve stayed in many hotels en route before, but never experienced a level of comfort or welcome that we did from the staff at this particular Delta. We arrived at a fairly busy check-in time, and were warmly welcomed by Prerna, who explained the amenities at the hotel and our room. We had trouble connecting to the Delta’s wi-fi network, which she solved immediately without making us look like two incompetent seniors! The lobby, adjoining bar and restaurant were impeccably clean, as was our room when we got to it. We slept in the “bed from Heaven” with comfortable, ironed bedding, something that seems a rarity these days. The bathroom was spotless, there was plenty of towels, and a good hot shower with full-pressure water…what a treat! We had supper in the bar, choosing from the entire Cordo restaurant and bar menu. Our antipasto charcuterie board was delicious and more than the two of us could eat. The house made gluten-free crackers were excellent, so much so, I asked the Chef for the recipe at breakfast next morning. We were very well looked after by Nate, who was friendly and interested in where we’d been and where we were going. He came back and checked on us regularly, to see if we needed anything else. We had an equally good breakfast the following morning, and were checked-out by Aiya, who wished us a safe journey home, and even offered us bottled water for the drive. Our entire experience at this Delta in Kamloops has made us decide we will stay here each time we make the journey to Calgary. The GM is obviously invested in her hotel doing well, and very supportive and encouraging to her team to offer the very best of hospitality to her guests! I’d highly recommend this hotel to you. We felt very welcome and comfortable staying here.

We booked an overnight stay at the Delta in Kamloops, on our way home to Vancouver Island, from visiting our family in Calgary. We received a warm and efficient welcome at the Front Desk from Prerna, even though it was a busy time for the check-in staff. She remembered our names each time we passed through the lobby. We had a very pleasant supper in the hotel’s restaurant, Cordo, as well as breakfast the following morning, served by the extremely friendly Nate. Our check-out with Aiya was equally well-executed; she even offered us bottled water for our continuing journey. We had the bed from Heaven; clean and smoothly ironed sheets, and a very well cleaned bathroom. There’s obviously a very proud GM managing operations at this property and encouraging her team to “go the extra mile” We would recommend this hotel highly for its warm friendly staff, and comfortable rooms! 🌟🌟🌟

Das Frühstück, das wir mit dem Zimmer gebucht hatten, war sehr dürftig. Jedes Extra - z. B. Cappuccino oder Orangensaft- musste extra bezahlt werden. Nicht lohnend!
