"I'd rather die"

2.0

This was the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. I will never be using Hotels.com again after their recommendation of this establishment. The employee that checked us in referenced that his friend MAY BE IN OUR ROOM!!! How on earth am i supposed to take a comment like that? So, the guy is just letting his friends use rooms for GOD KNOWS WHAT?!?!?!

"The staff was 5 star but, the faculty was terrible"

2.0

My room was on the 3rd floor and I had to hieck up 3 flights of steps with my luggage. You would thank if you don't have any elevators you should hire someone who deliver your luggage to your room? The temp was 54*F @ arrival. It took 24hrs to heat up the bedroom and the living room only got up to 66*F. The furniture was very old and damaged. They used sheet covers to hide inbarrasing conditions. Then you have to park 2 - 3 blocks away at the hospital. All I have to say is WoW!!! NEVER AGAIN WOULD I PUT MY SELF THROUGH THIS MESS!!!!! PS. RENOVATION IS NEEDED. . .

"Decent Hotel for the price."

10.0

I had a short relaxing overnight stay. The hotel was very clean. I just wished they had continental breakfast, but that's ok. There was a dunkin donuts down the street. Overall, I have no complaints. There were no bugs and no foul odor and that's all that matters to me

"Not old-world but ancient-world accommodations."

2.0

"Location, location, location" it's said. The Biltmore Suites had prime location for activities for a New Year's Day in Baltimore. Hoping a presumed old-world charm, its location in Mt Vernon, and low price would trump some negative reviews, we booked it. Regrettably for hotels, more than location is important. The Biltmore's "charm" isn't old-world; it's ancient-world. Forget elevators; access is by two sets of stairs to the lobby, then by narrow winding staircase to the rooms. Baggage assistance is not an amenity (unless you find a helpful/gracious tenant). The included "breakfast" is coffee and granola bars. That's it. (A 10% discount breakfast voucher is offered for a restaurant a block away.) Curbside parking is free on holidays/weekends, if you are lucky (we were). Suites? Hardly! Worse, is the acrid pungent "air freshener" that permeated room 213 (presumably others) when the ventilation system called for heat or a/c. Management offered another chemical to be sprayed to mask the already overwhelmingly distasteful smell. Not acceptable. Blessedly, room 213 opened to a hallway window that opened (room windows are painted shut) to let in outside air. With the door propped open, the odorous smell eventually dissipated; but that meant a night w/o heat, for the odor returned as soon as the fan was turned on. If price only(!) is your consideration, then book the Biltmore. Otherwise for a few dollars more, find another location.

"Hotel is in interesting part of town."

4.0

Great to be able to experience a wonderful Christmas Eve service across the street. Beautiful organ music and choir, candlelit. Happened upon it though, wish the hotel staff would have mentioned it. They did recommend a good Crab Cake restaurant, but the walk was through the homeless area, complete with tent cities. Restaurant was good. In the night, every night about 1 or 2 am, there were party goers who were very very loud noisy, and woke us up. The hotel seemed to be unaware of this. they did call to quiet the after the bar closed party one night. This was not even NY Year's eve. Room was pretty dirty. Floor not swept, windows leaking cold air. Lobby no place to hang out. Loud arguments in the street at night. Bathroom passable. Over-all gave us a view of what is outside the inner harbour, but seems this place is happy to be sub par.

"Great place for the cost."

8.0

Helpful owner, the neighborhood was good. We walked to restaurants several blocks away at night and never felt unsafe. The hotel is old and needs updating, but they have done everything they could to make our stay comfortable.

""Historic" hotel in Baltimore"

4.0

Clearly historic from the cracks in the walls, but large rooms with comfortable beds. Also advertised a breakfast, but when I asked they pointed me toward an empty basket. Overall would not stay there again.
