Mission Point Resort

It was ok - the beds are small - we have 2 teenage boys and they were not happy - very outdated but we understand it’s a historical type place - just have that mindset ahead of time. Overall the staff was good. The hot tubs are smaller - and the one was very cloudy Overall we enjoyed the island - might opt to stay in mackinaw city next time for the cost savings and come to the island for a day trip.

Overall the resort and the amenities are nice. When we entered the main lobby we were optimistic this would be a good stay.The Straight lodge however is dated and the walls/floors/ceilings are paper thin. We were kept up all night by a crying baby and woken up early by someone’s barking dog. The view of the lake is great, not from The Straight lodge but from the front section of the resort. My kids enjoyed the arcade. Rooms were fairly spacious. Bike rental at the resort was convenient. Food was great at the restaurant. The window AC had a constant drip sound all night from the AC unit from the floor above. The daytime at this resort is nice, nighttime, not a great stay.

The location is fabulous, the resort not so much. The main building is in serious need of an update, windows have been painted shut for decades, worn interior , very tired look. The limited bar and restaurant choices will have you walking into town. The fitness center is very small and offers limited equipment. The biggest disappointment was the staff, generally seemed unhappy. The one exception was a valet named Howard, very helpful and cheerful.

My fiancé and I enjoyed brunch at the round table kitchen at the mission point resort. The food was delicious. The portions were generous. The view was beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a mimosas, the breakfast burrito, and the meat lovers omelet.

We were in the Straits Lodge. Would've preferred to be in the main lodge as it was raining and we had to walk outside to get the taxi. Overall, the room was adequate. It's old and needs renovating, especially the bathroom. Coffee maker worked well and it was nice to have a mini-refrigerator. Round Island restaurant was good for breakfast. Not a lot of atmosphere for dinner. We went elsewhere.

Great accommodations, friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely property and grounds. Really enjoyed dining on the patio.
