Quality Inn Ledgewood - Dover

Breakfast was OK. Everything else was poor at best

1)The halls smell of mildew and there was furniture in the hallway waiting be thrown away (chairs, couches). 2) The doors to the parking lot do not lock and are open 24/7 to anyone so that the building has little to no security. 3) The bathroom light over the sink was inoperative and despite 3 requests to fix it, it remained broken. 4)The room telephone did not work (no dial tone, did not ring when called). Front desk notified, but staff did not address the problem. 5) Bathroom sink had dead insects around the faucet and drain. 6) On Saturday, the water in the building failed when the pump broke due to a power outage. No notification was made to guests. Impossible to wash, shower, or flush toilets. Also no water available for drinking as the property did not even offer bottled water. When asked to contact corporate, was told no one would be available until Monday and would only provide the phone number for the hotel. When asked when water would be restored, no answer provided. At this point, we checked out and went to a different brand property where the water was working, the halls did not reek of mildew, and the outside doors were secured to assure guest security. Choice Hotels CS was called and a complaint was filed, but no response or follow-up from them as yet,

Stayed for one night. Employee interactions were good throughout the stay. Room was clean and quiet. Ample parking. Excellent location close to highway. Standard continental breakfast with a couple of warm items. Hotel is older but has been kept up pretty well. Mattress was a bit tired in our room but that is only nitpick
