Spanish by the River - Boquete

Great patio area and kitchen facilities, lovely communal area and layout. Helpful staff recommending the coffee tour, Finca Casanga, highly recommend! Clean bathroom, cleaner comes daily.

Not much in the local area, have to get a taxi to boquete but they are cheap and easy. We went in rainy season (October) and it was very quiet.

Quiet and Clean

Staff, location, comfortable bed.

Shower in room with private bathroom was broken and not usable. When I turned the water on, a lot came leaking through the ceiling.

I liked the garden, the house itself is beautiful. The bedroom itself was clean. Host speaks English which made things easier for us.

First of all this is a youth hostel. i would advice against booking this property if you are not looking for that. That said: When we first arrived the kitchen was very dirty. Insects crawling all over it, making it an unsanitary place to cook. We asked staff if checkout at 7 was possible. They agreed. Next morning we want to checkout and staff member is no where to be found. Rooms are very noisy, you can hear every conversation. Houserules are not enforced we had to ask other guests to keep the noice down. Location wise its not great. Its easy enough to get to the town center. But around the hostel was not a pleasent area. All and all it essentially is especially with the language school tied to it, student housing on vacation. It was the complete opposite of what we were expecting and what seemed to be advertised. For the price we paid it was disappointing.

room was very dirty - it had probably not been used for a few weeks before we got there and hence it was very dusty (they could have just vacuumed once more before we got there), the walls need a fresh layer of paint. The room was moist and a little smelly and you could hear the worms living inside the wooden wardrobe which was full of spider webs. The shower in our bathroom was one of those electric ones (which I hate anyways cause water and electricity don’t go together, though they’re normal in central/south America), but it was leaking into the socket into which it was plugged so just a literal life hazard. Also there were billions of insects in the kitchen and one cockroach in our room, but that really is normal for boquete and I think no hostel can really do anything about it

It was a good stay, a quiet place but with good facilities.

The hostel was very small and not fully booked, so it was not very social at the time with other people.

being a Hostal it was clean and well looked after. all if the kitchen facilities were very good. it’s not too quality but everything works ok.

would have liked my own bathroom but no big deal using a shared bathroom.

Very friendly and helpful host, the location is really nice and quiet, the dog is so lovely. I really enjoyed my stay in Boquete

A very cute, little quiet place. It's located innAlto Boquete, but to get to the center it's super easy (1$ taxi). The staff is amazing, I felt like home. Many hugs to Lucie!

Good value for price. I enjoyed hanging out in the hammocks. Beautiful garden. Many other solo travellers. Thanks to the small size of the hostel it was quite easy to get to know the others. Only two people in a room. Surprisingly clean, the cleaning lady did a really good job. Thanks to mosquito nets i didn't see any cockroaches neither in the bathroom nor in the bedroom. Carlos was really nice and helpful with everything. The kitchen was big enough and equipped with everything I needed. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom, the shower even had hot water. I felt really comfortable there.

I was in the room that shared a wall with the shower, so i could hear quite loudly when people were having a shower or flushing the toilet. I also could hear when people were talking loudly in their rooms. But most of them tried to be considerate, so overall I could sleep quite well. Also, the rooms are pretty small if you have a lot of luggage, but it was ok.
