Schloss Spangenberg

Wunderschönes Schloss, das netteste Personal überhaupt, abends noch ein privates Gin Tasting und ein gutes Frühstück zum sensationellen Preis von 7,- Euro. Das Zimmer war sehr hübsch, das Bad mit Wanne etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber super gepflegt. Und der kleine Ott Spangenberg ist ein wahres Fachwerkparadies. Wie eine Filmkulisse!

De locatie

Er waren weinig gasten waardoor ze (begrijpelijk) niet het hele ontbijt buffet hadden staan. Dat werd ons echter niet verteld en er stond een kleine etagere met wat beleg en een paar broodjes klaar. Er werd eenmaal gevraagd of we verder nog iets wilden, maar daarna niemand meer gezien. Behalve de manager(?) was het personeel vriendelijk maar ongemakkelijk. Kamer was okay, maar niet bijzonder voor die prijs. Diner was ook okay, maar ook prijzig voor wat je krijgt.

Außergewöhnliche zuvorkommendes Hotelpersonal. Selbst bei später Anreise und nach offiziellem Dienstschluss noch sehr hilfsbereit. Freue mich auf den nächste Besuch.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Zimmer sehr gross und stilvoll eingerichtet. Frühstück ausgezeichnet.

Parkplätze wie immer Glückssache (wir hatten es). Ist aber baulich bedingt und nicht zu ändern.

Best stay on our 11 day trip! The Castle is exiting, the food the best we had, but most of all the staff were so kind. We arrived late on my son's 9-year-birthday, and in spite of the late appearance, the host gave us a tour of the castle after dinner. In the basement was one of the deepest wells in the world. 124 meters! He threw some water in, and we waited long until we heard the sound of it touching the bottom. It reminded me so much of the scene in The Lord of the Rings, where Pippin accidentally pushes a skull down a well and awakens all of Moria. I expected a Balrog to appear at any time, and me and my kids loved it! The place is located in the middle of Germany and is the perfect stopover on your way anywhere, be it the alps, Scandinavia, France or Eastern Europe. It was much better than anywhere else we stayed, it had charm, exiting history of robber Barons, Nazi prison, allied airstrike and a caring restauration by the locals. If you're looking for a stopover this place offers a small, convenient, high quality and charming option, we definitely are going to use from now one. Thanks for making my kids day!

Cool location with this really old castle. The staff was very helpful and the kitchen served a great dinner and breakfast.

The building is absolutely amazing, check in is 1600hrs sharp, there is no one available prior to that. Dinner was amazing and breakfast was decent. The grounds were in need of cleaning up (excessive weeds), but overall would go back again. A few things to note... NO AC NO ELEVATOR
