Apart from the beautiful castle itself, the hotel room was very fancy and comfortable with a proper medieval feel. The restaurant was also excellent.

The breakfast and evening meal were exceptionally good, and the general ambience was lovely.

We didn't like the flights of stairs which had to be climbed to reach our room.

"An atmospheric stay in a castle on a hill. Fabulous restaurant with nice staff."

Superb restaurant, quite expensive but really lovely. I especially loved the dessert for the undecided! A sliding chest of drawers with different desert options. Bed was super comfy and great to have tea and coffee facilities in the room.

We would have really liked to have known more about the history of the castle when it was a POW camp, as that’s why we chose to stay there.
