Fabulous location, great view, courteous staff, nicely renocated rooms, comfortable bed.

About 25 stairs to get your bag up.

Really comfortable mattress. Clean environment.

The room was good value for money. Bed was comfy, air-conditioning was valuable, room was clean. And there was an outside balcony. only 12 mins drive to Mona Vale beach, and slightly less to lots of food choices at Mona Vale. There is a kiosk downstairs for breakfast/lunch, and a fun find was the ferry that goes around Scotland Island (stops at the wharf beside the hotel and is a 35min round trip) - perfect if you want to get out on the water for a little bit for $4-ish.

I had been expecting a room with a view of the water, based on the photos I thought were associated with the room when I booked. However, we didn't have that. When I read the fine print on the room description once I got there, it did say it was a view of the street, so that's on me. Not necessarily a negative, but more for others to be be fair-warned about, though we booked the accessible room (that's all that was left), and while it did have an accessble bathroom, I am not sure how anyone with mobility issues would get to the room, as it was a steep set of sets up to all the rooms. We didn't see any evidence of a lift.
