Hill End Lodge

I liked the location as we had severe people for a special occasion.

We booked 5 rooms altogether for our occasion. Ours was fine. In one other had no reverse heating , the toilet wouldn’t flush and the room floor had not been cleaned and the owner refused to offer an other room. John is a nice man but past trying to run a motel. 2 of the other rooms had similar issues. Time John sold to a young couple willing to have a go and turn the lodge into something special which it could be.

Overall great exp - nice fresh breakfast and comfortable room. Lots of Kangroos outside door - kids had fun time there.

Not many nearby places to visit

Great location and staff, the onsite restaurant was also a bonus.

This older style lodge is a great place to stay when visiting Hill End.

Meals we simple but tasty. The location itself was so tranquil. The rooms modest and clean with basic amenities. Most staff was friendly, helpful and great for a chat. I didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back.

Look, this was quite trivial but I had a very slightly displeasant situation with a member of staff in the kitchen over a matter with the menu. She did apologise and all was forgotten but that was the only downer. Other than that, the experience was perfect.

We enjoyed the old world charm of the lodge and surrounding area. Our room was spacious, facilities were basic but suited our needs. Several dinner options which we enjoyed. Continental brekky was on a self-serve system in the lounge/ dining space, choices were limited but again it suited our needs. Location was great, only a couple of minutes' drive into Hill End (or easily reachable with those on bikes). The lodge is really well set up for large groups/ conferences with ample room to move in the common areas. Great value for money, and we would stay again.
