"Amazing Food and Charm"

10.0

This charming hotel is a must see in Senlis; the rooms are modern, very comfortable, bathrooms modern, excellent linens and a fantastic kitchen. The degustation dinner was amazing with fine dining touches in a small town. The town itself is extremely interesting with 3 small museums and many cobbled streets to explore. The sister restaurant, Scaramouche, is just up the road but we did not have a chance to visit. Knowing the chef, it is the same quality as the hotel. We will definitely return for another wonderful experience. Thank you Celine and John.

"Romance in Senlis"

10.0

This excellent French hotel is situated in the “Royal Town” of Senlis in Northern France. Cobbled streets, little bars and shops and then the excellent cuisine of the Porte Bellon. We were only passing through for one night but I wished it had been more. Not cheap food but worth every penny. The best hotel in our 11 day trip!

"Quiet Stay"

8.0

Stayed in a quite dated and small double room. A comfortable proper double bed and comfy pillows. No bar fridge, air con or tea /coffee making facilities. WiFi connection poor. Very pleasant and helpful staff. A easy walk to visit the old section of town and city walls. Dedicated bike storage area. Good mainly cold breakfast. (Boiled eggs only available but plenty of cereal /bread available.)

"Lovely hotel and a good alternative to staying in Paris"

10.0

Senlis is a very pretty town with lots of historical interest. About 10 mins drive (Uber works here as well) to Creil railway station where you can park. Creil is 20 mins from Gare du Nord. We went over for the racing at Chantilly and was a much better alternative to staying in Paris (and much cheaper!) The Porte Bellon is a top of the range Logis with an excellent restaurant.Free parking at the rear of the hotel and good wifi. We booked half board but upgraded to a la carte (standard menu is perfectly ok) for a modest cost. Rooms are very clean and excellent value. Staff are excellent, most spoke English as well, and very helpful with suggestions of things to do-try the historical walking routes, Highly recommended

"Price vs quality more than OK"

8.0

Have been there for two nights. Upon arrival in the afternoon, we had a very friendly welcome, and the friendliness of the crew was top during our stay. Except for the woman responsible for the breakfast... The food. Dinner very good, with a perfect timing between the dishes. The breakfast was not on the same level. We did not find milk for the coffee, unless a one liter bottle at the buffet, nor did we find a suitable can to fill. The rooms. The weather was very hot, and an airco would have been welcome. Although I understand it isn't available taking into account the price level of the hotel. Very quiet during the night, a little bit noisy from 6 o'clock on, especially when the windows must be opened due to the temperature. There is one thing about the hotel I can't understand: open wifi. Wifi WITH passwords is already not fully safe at public places, without a password it can be dangerous. Thanks to the new European regulations about roaming costs, I have been able to use my smartphone as a hotspot. Which is safe. I would NOT recommend to use an open wifi connection. Never! Would I return, when staying again in Senlis? Yes.

"Wonderful Logis in historic French Town"

10.0

Beautiful old coaching inn, great food, great ambience, great service. What's not to like. Senlis is a gem of a place, with a beautiful old centre and well worth a visit. The Hosteller is in a great location within walking distance of all sights.

"Second visit, will return again. A great place for an overnight to / from Paris, especially at the half board rate"

8.0

Food 9/10 Room 8/10 Service 9/10 Garden 9/10 We had mains from the business menu but starters were the specials of the day anbd puddings were also the specials. This was fine with the staff as we were on the half board rate. Food was just fab: proper French high grade cooking using lovely local ingredients. Good wine / beer choices, too. I think it is good value (not cheap, a bit special) if you get the half board rate (you have to tell them in advance you want half board). Half board means in effect you get the buffet breakfast free in the morning. The renovated rooms in the annexe are all new and super clean and luxurious, we stayed in one of these last time. This time we had an older room on the 2nd floor (up the spiral staircase in the old building, so cool!). Everything was very good in the room, double bed + single bed, attractive bed linen, good decor, a good powerful shower in the well appointed bathroom. Just a few tiny niggles: no tea / coffee making facility in the room; my dad said the ceiling over the loo was too low for a man to pee standing up (so sit down!); artificial plants (why?) used as decoration on the staircase window sills, but that is personal preference I know; the decorative cushions on the bed were cute but a little frayed. But these are tiny, tiny little points, would never stop us staying here again.
