Hilton Orrington/Evanston

I've visited this charming and cozy property multiple times throughout the past year and I wish to encourage everyone with fur babies to choose the Orrington as their destination if you're planning a trip to Chicago. First of all I love historical architecture and the Orrington has a mystical and old world charm with a beautiful marble floor downstairs lobby, a real fireplace and an excellent restaurant adjacent to it so you don't have to leave the hotel for excellent food if you don't want to. The entire front desk staff and all the valet, doormen and the security guard make you feel welcomed and special. I truly felt genuinely cared for here with all the smiling faces and sweet front desk wanting to cuddle and pet my shy pyrenees. I'd like to include the names of the front desk staff so here we go--Vanessa, Olayemi,Ramdani, Alexis, and Yanisa. Victoria and Sophie tend to work in the evenings and leave early in the morning and everyone here makes you feel like a family member not just a paying guest. I felt genuinely appreciated and cared for and housekeeping makes a point of offering service on a daily basis too! Now let's talk about the location! Downtown Evanston is a college town and within walking distance you will find an all you can eat ramen and sushi restaurant open till 12:30 am if you're a late owl. In less than a block is the AMC theater, numerous coffee shops, restaurants, massage spas and bookstores. Northwestern University is yard's away and if you want to visit Chicago the purple line is literally just down the street. The beach is also within walking distance heading East and a Whole foods is a six minute walk. The rooms here begin with petite coziness with king sized comfy beds to luxury suites if you wish to spoil yourself or celebrate a special event. There are groups of professionals that book this hotel and very fun events like a father and daughter cowboy themed dance that was held when I stayed. I love the fact that it's extremely quiet here and the front desk was kind enough to upgrade my room when I wanted a better view of the city. This hotel is s great value for the money especially because of how close you are to entertainment, grocery stores, pet shops, bakeries, plant and floral stores and novelty crystal and jewelry shops. Being a guest at the Orrington makes you feel like you're a member of the Evanston community and if you're a book fanatic the Evanston Library is literally across the street. The staff here always asks me if I need extra bottled waters for my fur babies and there are wonderful parks nearby to take your dog for a relaxing walk. I thank everyone here for making me feel so comfortable and special.

Parking

The front office staff, specifically front office manager, Alexis, was warm and welcoming from the start. We did experience a few issues in our room, but they were addressed immediately and we were even moved to another room to make things right. The responsiveness and care shown by the staff truly stood out. The service was amazing all around.

Wow!!! Is all I have to say about the Hilton at Orrington in Evanston. This by far was a fairytale Holiday Season come true!! I came to you exhausted, damaged from a stressful 3 month long work assignment that left me battered and bruised. Little did I know I would walk into my own movie like Holiday Story with myself as the main character and the Hilton at Orrington the sweet hotel tucked perfectly on the outskirts of Chicago close enough via public transportation for me to enjoy the City during the day then I get to escape back to the sweet charm of Downtown Evanston at night with the AMAZING staff at this hotel. This has by far been my best Holiday Season EVER!!! I don't think I could do the holiday's any other way! I just need to find a way to convince my family that this should be our newest family tradition to come "Home for the Holiday's at the Hilton at Orrington". It would be a great break from a job well done of growing our community based family business. Special thanks to Kanak the Director of Operations for working both Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. To see his friendly and approachable face on both holidays such professionalism and demure you can tell he is a true asset to the Hilton brand. Evangelese keep making those funny faces girl and keeping me laughing! Mariana thank you for your warmth and care. Angeles thank you for taking care of me when Mariana and Evangelese are away. The entire front desk crew and the security guard thank you for my daily social interaction and conversations with the most AMAZING smiles otherwise I would be buried in my work. P.S. you all look so Dapper!!! To the restaurant crew who wrote the book on service with a smile honestly you guys are what's making this entire trip making me scratch my head like I'm definitely in a movie. Lol, And Alex thank you for the warm hugs holding my hand when we talk and addressing my needs when it comes to my stay. I told my therapist the other day you guys take such good care of me and I meant it. The Hilton at Orrington is my "Happy Place".

Where do I even begin to share my experiences at the Hilton at Orrington in Evanston? As my business expanded beyond state lines, it became clear that extensive travel was on the horizon, and fate guided me to this wonderful hotel. Before embarking on my journey, I was greeted by the warm and compassionate welcome from Olayemei, who made me and my service animal feel right at home. The professional assistance I received from Alex was invaluable; she helped me navigate the complexities of setting up long-term business travel for my company and connected me with Abby in Sales, who guided me through the corporate paperwork process. Their support was the perfect finishing touch for my small, award-winning business. I felt truly valued, and that made all the difference. I realized then that this would be my home every time I returned to Chicago to grow my community-focused business. My service animal, Jonah, loves it here too! You can see the relief on his face when we arrive, as if he knows we can finally rest from our work and travels. Although the team may not be aware, I live with a disability; I am highly functional but do experience PTSD. As a survivor of domestic violence, the recent growth and recognition of my work have triggered some challenges. The past three months have been particularly stressful, but returning to the Orrington provided the warmth I needed. Receiving long hugs from Alex and Abby, seeing a smile from Connor, enjoying a light-hearted joke from Ruth in housekeeping, inhaling the refreshing scent Patima adds to my room, a great blueberry crumble from Angel in the Bistro, and getting a tour of the Christmas rooms from the director of housekeeping all contributed to my healing and helped me finish the year on a positive note. The holiday gathering for clients, where I met other staff members who make this little slice of heaven run smoothly, filled my heart with joy. I even met Gina from Northwestern! I could go on and on about my gratitude. I feel incredibly blessed to lead this “Nomad” life, especially with the Hilton Orrington team by my side.
