El Sol Monteverde

The property was just a bit out of town, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The grounds were kept very well and the pool area was incredible. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We ordered the optional breakfast 1x and it was delicious. Highly recommend this place- we started with 2 adults/ 3 teens.

This property is absolutely beautiful and calming. Amazing natural setting, colorfully designed and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, friendly and accommodating staff, gorgeous pool and Mountain View.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Ehrlich gesagt - das war die schönste Unterkunft, die wir in Costa Rica hatten! Preislich etwas höher als andere, aber wirklich jeden Cent wert. Die Lage ist außergewöhnlich - man hat absolute Ruhe und kann von der Hütte oder vom Pool aus das gigantische Panorama genießen, fernab von jeglichem Trubel. Wir hatten ein Mietauto, waren somit unabhängig. Wir haben uns aber bewusst dazu entschlossen, eine ganzen Tag nur hier zu verbringen und die Ruhe zu genießen. Tipp: Unbedingt Frühstück und Abendessen bestellen, das kommt schon fast an Fine Dining ran! Abends eine Flasche Wein im Whirlpool und klare Sternennächte genießen. Ich hoffe, wir können eines Tages wieder kommen, wir haben uns von Anfang bis Ende sehr willkommen gefühlt.

Such a beautiful setting, love all the little outdoor spaces and the sense of privacy you have. The pool area is idyllic. Our villa was comfortable and spacious for our family of five. The breakfast was amazing— incredibly delicious.

One of my top 3 places to rest and enjoy the view from now on ! People are amazingly lovely, the sceneries as even more wonderful in reality. The place is really quiet, birds come nearby easily to salute you, the specialty coffee produced here is absolutely delightful too. The breakfast is delicious and served at your room. Another incredible point is the two beehives there with tiny little stingless bees. To conclude, if you go to Monteverde to enjoy the nature and be in a quiet place, you must go to El Sol, you'll be more than welcome with authentic smiles and good mood.

Absolutely nothing !

The hotel is located on top of a mountain, offering a unique view of the dry landscape, along with plenty of privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms and facilities are great, especially their splendid breakfast (probably one of the best in the country). The staff are friendly, helpful and quick response for guest's needs.

The hotel is in a somewhat isolated location, and most tour buses do not offer pick-up or drop-off here. It can also be a bit difficult to find an Uber. The hotel does offer a taxi service, but it’s more expensive. Since the hotel is built in a natural setting, you should expect to see some ants in the room here and there.

The views from the room (and even the shower) are second to none. A quiet and tranquil oasis on a beautifully maintained property. Loved the hammock and jacuzzi tub off the balcony, the infinity pool, although not heated, was fantastic after a day of exploring and breakfast was excellent! The staff were some of the friendliest I've encountered in Costa Rica (third time travelling to CR).

No air conditioning in the room, ceiling fans only do so much to keep you and the room cool, especially if you want to enjoy the room during the day (sleeping is fine as it cools down at night). Wooden chairs on patio are uncomfortable.
