the Curtis Denver - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

Writing this on behalf of my clients. They had an awful stay- 3 nights of hell. Barely any water pressure, cleanliness / housekeeping was non-existent. They did not have room service available, dog poop on the floor and never cleaned up the whole stay. The elevators stop at every floor no matter what. The "breakfast" included was just grab and go and you needed to present vouchers. Apparently they are allowing students stay there so its more of a hostel / dorm type of vibe. 100% not worth the price. Will not ever book again

The location was great for the purpose of the visit. Staff was accommodating.

There check-in system was not smooth. Another couple was given our room (after we checked in) and they ended up walking in on us getting dressed for our evening out. Embarrassing for all parties (the hotel did comp the $45 parking fee). The shower was also lukewarm and never reached a comfortable temperature. We expected better from a hotel that caters to guest that are there to attend performances at the Denver Performing Art Center.

The AC was very loud; I had it turned off for most of the stay.

The discount for food and drink and the staff given snacks.

How expensive it was and the homeless outside. And the slow elevation

We're traveling with 30 high schoolers visiting colleges around Colorado. Because of all the red tape when paying for out of state travel with public schools, we lost our first hotel. Sierra at The Curtis jumped at the opportunity and was extremely thorough finding out all of our needs to put together the right package for us. She was so thoughtful and helpful when we ran into issues getting things worked out on our side with the school district. Jaemy worked efficiently with my changing room assignments and Haliegh made sure all of our final details were perfect. When it came time to check-in, it was so incredibly organized! Each guest had their own envelope with their room information. The check in process was so easy! The front desk personnel was wonderful. Sarah and the person with her (I can't remember her name 😢) were so kind to us. The themed floors were so fun. The students and chaperones all enjoyed the fun little things awaiting around each corner and down every hallway. We would highly recommend The Curtis to anyone staying in Downtown Denver!

I had a very disappointing and honestly unacceptable stay at The Curtis Denver – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel. I stayed for about a week, and the housekeeping and cleanliness standards were far below what anyone would expect — especially from a Hilton property. Here is a clear breakdown of the issues: • Floor Cleanliness The floor was not vacuumed at all during my stay. While there may not be large visible trash, there were always small particles like dust, tiny bits of tissue, and general debris. It was very clear that no actual vacuuming was being done. There was also no sense of freshness — the room never smelled clean. • Bed & Linen Condition (Extremely Poor) The bed was in a constantly unacceptable condition. It was not properly made at all — it looked wrinkled in a very obvious and careless way, as if no real effort was put into it. The blanket was just thrown back loosely, not tucked, not straightened, and visibly creased from all sides. The sheets underneath were not adjusted or smoothed out — they remained messy and uneven. The pillows were even worse — they were not arranged properly at all. Instead of being neatly aligned, they looked like they were randomly tossed onto the bed. Pillowcases were poorly fitted and added to the overall sloppy appearance. The entire bed looked disorganized and unpresentable every single day — not even close to the standard of any normal hotel. Most importantly, none of the bedding (sheets, pillowcases, etc.) was changed at all during my entire stay, regardless of how long I stayed. The bed always looked crumpled, neglected, and simply unpleasant. • Housekeeping Service & Hygiene Concerns Housekeeping response was very poor — requests were ignored or handled very slowly. On one occasion, housekeeping entered the room and still did not clean it properly. What was even more concerning is that they placed a used cleaning cloth on the surface where guests are expected to prepare coffee, tea, or even place food. That cloth did not appear clean, and there is no way to know where it had been used before (bathroom surfaces, floors, etc.). This is extremely unhygienic and raises serious concerns about cross-contamination and the spread of bacteria. Additionally, there was no restocking of basic items like coffee or tea. When requested, I was told to go downstairs and get them myself due to limited staff — which is unacceptable. • Bathroom Cleanliness & Supplies The bathroom was not properly cleaned. Towels were not placed correctly and were often just left on the sink counter instead of being arranged properly. There was no restocking of essentials like soap or tissues. Overall, the bathroom lacked basic hygiene standards and attention to detail. • Overall Experience & Staff Attitude The overall experience was extremely frustrating. The level of cleanliness and service does not reflect the standards expected from a Hilton hotel. Staff attitude was dismissive, and it felt like guest concerns were not taken seriously. ⸻ Final Verdict: This was a very poor and frustrating experience from start to finish. The lack of cleanliness, poor housekeeping practices, and unacceptable hygiene standards made the stay uncomfortable. As a tourist, I expected much better. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.
