Bienville House

2-stars is me being generous, one star for the GREAT location & a second star for the friendly staff and *EXCELLENT valet*! NOTHING else went right though.😮‍💨😓 The attached restaurant won't allow anyone under 21 to enter, even if it's just to sit on the dining side for a meal. So, our 19 year old *legal-adult* daughter couldn't have dinner with us, so we cancelled our reservation. A hotel as nice as Bienville House should have an attached establishment that allows ALL guests to dine at, or at the very least it should be 18+. If a person is old enough to enlist in the military, they should be old enough to eat a meal at a hotel restaurant.🙄 I was very disappointed! The hallway of our standard room was not as quiet as we'd hoped, but that was just due to our neighbors at the end of the hall in the Iberville Suite being too loud and slamming doors closed. As others have said, yes, walls are very thin. And believe me, I slammed our door back at them early the next morning! I docked two more stars for the broken rain-fall showerhead in room 418 (shower wand was the only way to get any water pressure at all) and the fact that I couldn't enjoy the pool on my one full day here, because it was closed for a "private event" all day, even though every time I looked in the courtyard there was no one out there using it. I was looking forward to that rain-fall shower all day on our first night of arrival... and we booked this hotel *because of the pool*. When I was finally able to get to the pool after 8pm, the water was way too cold, even though it's advertised as heated. I don't believe their pool heater was functioning. In my opinion, my overall experience was not worth the $314 per night (thank goodness we didn't book one of the more expensive rooms). This 2-night-stay was supposed to be a relaxing gift to myself, because I'm in breast cancer treatment & recently finished chemo, so I'm super sad that I didn't get to enjoy the very things I was most looking forward to (restaurant, rain shower, and heated saltwater pool). I will not stay here again... unless management is willing to do literally ANYTHING to compensate us in some way for the disappointing experience this time around... But recent reviews from guests having items stolen is disheartening, so I don't expect anything to come of my review either. Oh, our room safe was also inoperable. AND... I just discovered the bathroom outlet was also malfunctioning! If you hold the hairdryer plug partially in, it works, but if you push it all the way in, it doesnt work. (I didnd need a hairdryer, because of chemo hair, but my daughter did) Anywa, all of this was beyond ridiculous... I've had better functioning rooms at budget motels! Good grief... $314 per night for this. :(

We chose the Bienville House because it was in the French Quarter but not a long the strip. This was the perfect place to stay that gave us the accessibility of being in the FQ and close to the trolly without all the noise of Bourbon Street. We would absolutely stay here again.

Excited to be staying in the French Quarter at this establishment. Hotel itself is beautiful Arrived at midnight after a very long day. Reception was perfunctory at best. Positives - beautiful room and comfy bed Could be better- poor wi fi connection, you need to tell receptionist if you want housekeeping done(we did not know. this), some doors slam shut and doors are thin so loud guests in the hall can be disturbing. Fantastic location to eateries and sights. Sister hotel well worth a visit as quite different with larger pool area.

Excellent location and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, the room felt outdated and worn. There was also a very strong odor of either a cleaner or a deodorant that we were faced every time we entered the room. We became used to it after a half hour or so, but I questioned what that was and why it needed to be so strong. We also experienced a lot of noise from the icemaker across the hall as it dropped ice throughout the night. It's unfortunate because the location is wonderful and in close proximity to everything we wanted to experience.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The location is perfect-- so close to nightlife, but still quiet and felt safe to walk around. The hotel itself was beautiful-- our room was spotless and spacious. Hotel staff was kind and attentive. Latitude 29 (the attached tiki bar) was my favorite bar in NOLA, no joke. Fabulous vibe, incredible cocktails, amazing staff. Could not say enough great things about Bienville House.

I loved the hotel ,it was inviting and very beautiful.It was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly. The bed was so comfortable.

Bienville House is conveniently located to the dining and entertainment of the French Quarter, the River Walk and Canal Street. The staff is very attentive, friendly and helpful. The rooms are well appointed and clean, and guest are made to feel safe and comfortable during their stay.

2nd visit. This boutique hotel is in an excellent location on a quiet street and close distance to many attractions. Love the service from staff. Lovely decor staying true to history.
