My wife and I recently spent two nights at Pendry as an opportunity to get away from the kids. We had been to the area before but wanted to try something different. Based on a recommendation from a friend, we chose Pendry. Here are our observations: Atmosphere. The atmosphere felt very classy, upscale, and youthful. Staff. All staff members we encountered are great and helpful, especially at the reception desk. Location. Yes, it wasn’t located on the beach, however, being located across the street from Fashion Island was good enough. Room. The room was very spacious and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. Pool. The pool wasn’t very large, but even on a Saturday, there was still enough lounge chairs for everyone. There were a couple of toddlers, otherwise the age mix felt like upper 20’s to upper 40’s with some in there 50’s and 60’s. There’s a water station, towel station, and plenty of attendants. Tree Shack Pool Bar. The service was prompt and attentive. The food was really good. Set restaurant. We were there for lunch. Food was really good. Loved the ambiance of the patio..... very energetic. There was a DJ mixing some tunes but it wasn't too loud. Bar Pendry. Most hotel bar are a little quiet and stale. Not this one. To reuse the words earlier wrote, it felt very very classy, upscale, and youthful. By 8:30pm, it was standing room only. NEGATIVE: Noise. Due to fun atmosphere that was present in the lounge and patio, if your room faces the pool, one can hear the noise in your room. Personally, this wasn’t an issue for us, but I can see how it would be an issue for others.

hotel itself and the location are amazing. service stinks - paid for 3 ppl in the room for 5 days and each day we get 2 towels and have to call down every day for more towels. valet is a mess...plenty of people standing around but not organized and takes forever to get your car. this morning 7:15 we texted for the car...we go down and finally at 7:35 i ask the guy and he finally looks at the tablet for the text. just training...just missing good training.

The staff of the front desk , management and financial department: My Experience with the Hotel: Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was far from comfortable due to a troubling and suspicious experience with the front desk and financial management team. At check-in, one of the staff members took my credit card and placed it under the desk—out of my sight—which immediately struck me as unusual. Later, I began receiving notifications of multiple unauthorized charge attempts from the hotel. It’s worth noting that I had used this card only once to pay for a single service, as I typically use a different card for all other transactions. After those failed attempts, I received an email from the hotel claiming that I had an outstanding balance—something that seemed to me like an attempt to cover up the failed charges. When I asked for an invoice, they sent me a copy of a bill I had already paid, which raised further concerns. What added to my frustration was the persistent, repeated messages that appeared more like pressure tactics than genuine attempts to resolve the issue transparently. Upon reviewing my bank account, I discovered more than six unauthorized charge attempts. Eventually, I received an apology from a staff member named Lauren, but I found it to be insincere and inadequate, especially given that the situation, in my view, amounted to an unethical and unprofessional attempt at fraud.

My room faced the kitchen, which has a very noisy vent. I was in Newport for work and had a busy schedule. The noise from the vent was quite disruptive and made it difficult to sleep at night. I requested a room change but unfortunately received no support from the team. I was very disappointed with this experience and will likely try to avoid staying at the Pendry on my next trip.

Absolutely loved the Pendry. The restaurant, SET, is incredible — a must-try. The pool is beautiful, and at night the bar turns into a lively nightclub. We had so much fun we hardly left the hotel.
