Typical Marriott property, clean, well-run, comfortable. Far enough away from Salem to avoid the crowds of crazies.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. I stayed there with a bus tour group in October 2025. Some members of the group had food allergies and dietary restrictions. This information was shared with the hotel well in advance and unfortunately the catering department and restaurant did not offer a menu suitable to meet these needs. Only offering gluten free bread is not an acceptable choice for people with celiac disease. Simple options could include gluten free pasta with a marinara sauce. Stir fried vegetables with rice. Non dairy and wheat free sauces. Marriott hotels are not a small chain with limited resources, they are a multi national chain hotel and need to revamp their food options to meet dietary needs and food allergies.

Room was very stark, not cozy. Bed was like sleeping on a rock towels were very rough and soap /shamoo smelled horrible. Was further from Salem then booking stated

Stayed with family for two nights visiting Salem - chose hotel because everywhere in town was sold out and figured it would be a Marriott so reasonable. Room was good size and comfortable. Staff were efficient and helpful - what you'd expect at a Marriott. Hotel was about 15 mins from Salem so it works well as a base to visit. It's very much an out of town hotel with not much in the immediate vicinity. Easy access to roads. Lots of parking onsite. Sofias restaurant was pretty soulless, bar was quite busy but again a bit stark. Not a comfortable space to spend time.

We stayed at the Marriott Peabody during October, when the Salem festivities were in full swing. The room rate was nearly four times the usual price, despite the hotel being about a 15-minute drive from downtown Salem — which made the surge feel even more excessive. The staff were courteous and professional, and the room was clean. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was quite noisy, making it hard to sleep comfortably.
