"Good"

Bed was fine, but the building is old and run down. The room was extremely hot and, after talking to a local resident, it seems that this is normal - it’s hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There doesn’t seem to be good temperature regulation. Service was fine and they were friendly enough as a whole.

"Old hotel but good location"

We stayed at room 312 for 3 nights in Aug 2025. After extensive research, this is one of the better hotels in Juneau, as there seems to be only three star hotels in Juneau. Plumbing was very poor, draining of sink and shower were both terrible. We informed the front desk and maintenance fixed it for the 2nd night and it was so much nicer. Hotel is def old and dated. Great location at edge of downtown. There’s a fun food trucks area with big tents right next door. Walkable to all the shops and to the pier. Backdrop of the forest is majestic

"Good stay, I would stay there again."

Great stay at the Baranof. Staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is good, though not included. You choose between menu, which is good and buffet, which is so-so.

"Just fine"

Everything a bit aged: elevator, rooms, hallways. No A/C but windows that open and table fans in every room. Sheets/bedding was excellent; towels thin and basic. Quiet location and we enjoyed the easy downtown location—everything walkable. Looked in on the restaurant for breakfast but pricey and dark environment (found a local eatery nearby, the Rookery, that was excellent).

"Listen for the click, lift and push on the door handle."

Excellent bed and water pressure. Door handle opens when you lift up and push. I would've appreciated this advice before leaving the front desk. Pricey, but I know it was during the busy season.

"Old hotel with limited amenities."

Old hotel with very limited amenities. One bath towel and 3 hangers for 2 adults. Conditioner, in a large dispenser, was clogged & none came out. Beds were comfortable. Quiet. Good location for old downtown. Good breakfast buffet with sausage, bacon, ok scrambled eggs, mixed melons, yogurt, and a variety of mini- muffins & breakfast breads. No toast or bagels.
