DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington Minneapolis South

Room reservation was posted as accommodating 5 people. We entered our room to find 1 double Murphy bed. Front desk told me there were 2 couches that could be used. There was 1 dirty couch which was not a sleeper couch. Front desk told me the rooms do not go by how many people they sleep but how many people are allowed based on the fire code. They found 3 roll beds for us to use. The reservation page on Travelocity was very deceiving.

Property is quite large and there seemed to be recent updates in the lobby and in many parts of the sleeping rooms. Experience at both check-in and check-out was similar to what others have suggested...unfriendly, just didn't feel very welcome. A line was forming at check-in and the one person working the desk was juggling phone calls and the growing line while signaling to a colleague in back to come out and help. She eventually emerged without a sense of urgency and was pretty short with me in going through the check-in process. Best guess is that she had to wrap up her break early and was irritated, but I don't know for sure. Similar at check-out...different people at the desk...similarly irritated with engagements with customers.

I've been in the hotel before for conventions and this is my fourth visit to property. I like the fact that it is close to the Mall of America.

I love how big the property is and how clean it was. The snacks and drinks at the "convenience store" are pricey. I would definitely stay again.

Evening check in was in the same line as guests buying snacks, only 1 receptionist, slow check in.
