DoubleTree by Hilton Memphis Downtown

Was a bit dubious after reading bad reviews. Our room was clean. Bedding got changed once during our 4 night stay. The shower took ages to get warm. That was the only negative thing. The hotel is in a great position to walk everywhere downtown. 15 mins to the pyramid. 15 mins to Sun Studios. 5 mins to Beale Street

I’m not going to lie but reading other recent reviews was not looking forward to our stay at this hotel, however, in accepting that it is ‘tired’ in parts, the room was comfortable, clean with everything working as it should. The location was excellent for activities in the area, either walkable or a short ride away (e.g. Graceland), and staff were helpful in giving advice and recommendations. Valet Parking was provided at cost per night but very straightforward even during busy morning pick up. A positive point was access to tea/coffee 24hrs.

Air conditioner in room did not work. Valet service very slow. Hotel front desk worker attempted to charge my card twice for my stay

Everything was absolutely amazing!!!

The warmth and look of the lobby, and the friendliness of the clerk

The room was small and dirty. The toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks or even months. Brown and black rings were inside. I wore my slides in the shower, and the bedside tables were dirty. The wall also looked like it had spit wads on it. The room was overall unkempt and very small. For $200. I'm 1000% sure I won't be staying at this location anymore.

The location was great, close to Beale street.

It needs some updates. We stayed there ages ago and it is the same.

Normally we have a great experience with Doubletree. This time, however was different. After waiying over half an hour at check in, we finally were able to make it to our room. When we torned down the bed, there were blood stains on the sheets. When we called the front desk, they said they were sending someone up. 20 minutes later, someone arrived, handed us a stack of sheets and when we offered to show them the stains, we were told "I just drop off the sheets..." and he left.

Ms Linae believe she was manager and was excellent had a very pleasant attitude, professional always. Would like to also speak of Jasmine and another lady was also very pleasant. The afternoon shift were not as pleasant at all. The rooms are basic, there are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms.
