Grand Hotel Oslo by Scandic

Staff were unfriendly, rooms are small, and elevators often did not work, meaning one had to use the staff elevator and then walk through the disgusting kitchen to leave the property.

Grand Hotel is my top choice whenever I visit the city – whether it's for a romantic getaway or a business trip. The hotel blends timeless elegance with modern comfort, and the service is always exceptional. And they always remembers you and welcomes you back in the warmest way! Its central location makes everything easily accessible, and the spa is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day. A true gem in the heart of Oslo. Like I said: If you’re looking for a hotel that makes you feel like royalty – whether you're wearing a suit or slippers – this is the place!

Our two stays at the Grand Hotel Oslo (beginning and end of our trip to Norway) were wonderful. The location on Karl Johans Gate enabled us to see almost everything we wanted within walking distance (including the express train from and to the airport), the rooms were very comfortable and welcoming, the breakfast selection was both amazing and delicious, and the concierge team was the best!

Lovely old hotel with nice sized rooms, incredible breakfast buffet and a lovely lobby room for a light lunch. Centrally located near the Parliament and a quick walk to the harbor and just about anywhere else.

Great location. Otherwise, over priced for the quality of the rooms. It felt like a hotel that really wanted to be fancy but actually had old carpet, chipped paint on doors, and a small awkward room. Friendly staff.

Grand hotel was a perfect place to stay while in Oslo. It was in a convenient location. The room was large and well appointed. The breakfast was amazing….. those scones delicious.

I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at this property. My room had a spider in it, as well as some other issues, and the front desk agent shrugged her shoulders and didn't care or resolve the matter. Similarly, the member of management there at the same time did not intervene. The next day the hotel elevators were disabled due to a VIP arrival with no information provided to guests around how I should exit the hotel. I had to walk through the kitchen and let me tell you it is not clean.
