Trumbull Marriott Shelton

Reading reviews of how this place is run down had me a little nervous. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. I'm not sure whether it's dated....I'm not a designer. I have stayed in many Marriotts but not many hotels (usually a motel). This is a very large hotel with a huge main floor where the bar and restaurant are. I found the staff very nice. Plenty of parking. It's true the blacktop is beat up, but i don't consider this a huge deal. We had no time for the pool so didn't check that out.By far the biggest problem was broken elevators. Only one was working and with a Rainbow Girls convention it was jammed with long waits. I am concerned this elevator problem is seen in reviews going back about a year. Breakfast was very good. Room was clean and nice. Bathroom fine. Hot water was barely hot, but useable. I see other complaints about this. Seems like they need some help on mechanical maintenance. There is a Tesla Supercharger immediately next door in a Target parking lot. You can easily leave your car and walk back if you want. We have another reservation here in June, so I guess you can decide if we liked it or not.

Stayed here for two nights with a team. Hotel was not my choice. It is a very standard 1970s style built Marriott. Old dark brick. Small rooms with extremely small bathrooms with old style shower curtains and no storage space/shelving. Bed was comfortable. TV was large with streaming services. Ample parking due to banquet venue rooms. If you need it for convenience, it will work. If you want an updated more modern style hotel, there are so many better options in the area. So many options right off the I-95 to choose from.

The Property is very outdated and in need of renovation. 2 of the 3 elevators at the hotel were not working the entire time we were there.

The room was clean and comfortable

The elevators are broken which is inconvenient. The hotel was insanely crowded. The pool was a mosh pit of teenage boys so my daughter and I couldn’t use it. Not that this is the hotels fault but we were disappointed.

This property should not even be associated with the word Marriott. It was by far one of the worst we have ever stayed at. Upon checking in, we found out that the hot tub was not fixed (it was supposed to have been repaired last month) and two out of three elevators were out of order. This was a huge issue as we were on the top floor AND the hotel was full with a hockey team, a girls pageant/conference and what appeared to be several families with a large number of children. We ended up hiking the stairs multiple times to get to our room after waiting almost 15 min for the elevator one time to get up. The room was boiling and couldn't get it a reasonable temperature while the bathroom in the room was frigid as well as the hallway of our floor. The hair dryer shorted out any outlet that I tried to use it in. There was housekeeping service during our stay nor was it mentioned that there would not be. The concierge lounge was abysmal. The restroom in it has a thick black ring in the toilet, chips were the only snack item left for the extent of our stay, the coffee maker had an issue and they were out of any diet soda also. When asked about it, we were snapped at. Breakfast was included but was not Marriott grade given it was in the restaurant. It was a standard buffet that was about on par for a Fairfield. The last bit was the large number of potholes when entering and exiting the property. Overall, it was a very disappointing visit. We are more likely to return to a nearby Springhill that we have stayed at before when we visit the area again this summer.

The atmosphere great

The guests where too loud. The hotel was very booked ans the pool was not goo for use. I was very upset about not being able to use tge pool or hot tub.
