The staff was friendly and trying to help

I recently booked a stay at Bambo Cottages, Gili Air, but we were so disappointed with the condition of the room that we decided to leave immediately, losing our payment, rather than staying there. ( they categorically refused to discuss any refund posibility) The main issues: Inaccurate Photos: The rooms look nothing like the filtered pictures on Booking.com. The online photos imply a level of comfort and quality that is simply not present. Poor Condition: In reality, the room was very old and run-down. A major issue was the bare, cracked cement floor, which gave the entire space a cold, uninviting, and neglected appearance (see images attached). Hygiene and Maintenance: The room felt dirty. There were many mosquitoes, including on the pillows. We requested a canopy mosquito net, but the one provided was dirty and significantly torn,(see image). A local resident later informed us that such rooms are typically used for local housing, not for international tourists. While there are newer, nicer cottages on the property, they were fully occupied. The only positive: The staff was very kind and professional. They tried to help by offering us another room, but unfortunately, it was in the same poor condition. Unless you can guarantee booking one of their newer units, I strongly advise against staying here. The discrepancy between the photos and the reality of the basic rooms is misleading and unprofessional.

Wlan hat leider nicht so gut funktioniert

Just the best place ever. Such friendly staff. Right on the beach, we saw Turtles waist deep every day, just stunning. Great swimming, clean water, soft sand. Excellent sunrise. Fabulous breakfasts. Lots of loungers for the beach. Didn't get into the pool. Rooms are close together and yes, you can hear everything, but the AC does help with the burr. Loved the outdoor bathroom and lovely room, with a safe, all the huts are the same and really spacious. We loved it here. They organised a super boat trip for us to Meno, the statues and back, such good snorkelling on that trip. Very quiet hotel and great staff. We walked to the West side for Sunset every evening a whole 15mins there. Bikes can be hired. It's very relaxed and very amazing and I wish I was still there. Good for lane swimming and running around the island too.

Light in the room could be better over the mirrors.

La location è carina e di base piacevole. Staff complessivamente cordiale (non tutti però) e che cerca di soddisfare le esigenze (a noi ad esempio hanno cambiato camera su nostra richiesta e prenotato alcuni servizi). Posizione ideale adiacente il "lungo mare" (bellissima alba) e zona per lo snorkeling molto carina (tartarughe sempre presenti, coralli sani, vita marina,...). Noleggio bici possibile.

Rapporto qualità-prezzo: a nostro modo di vedere per il prezzo pagato si trovano tante altre opzioni e forse con caratteristiche superiori. Cottage che possono essere rumorosi (si sente il vicino che parla in camera, l'unita esterna del condizionatore, la musica dalla spiaggia e se si è nei cottage vicini alla reception si sentono tutte le interazioni fra clienti e staff). Spiaggia con alcuni ombrelloni e lettini ma spesso bisogna utilizzare quelli nella zona della piscina perché occupati (una decina di lettini in spiaggia e altrettanti in piscina).

Localisation vraiment incroyable, un vrai paradis! Plage parfaite avec beaucoup de tortues directement en face de l'hôtel. Piscine super et chaude. Petit déjeuner très bon. Personnel adorable. Très relaxant.

Lits pas très confortables. Peu d'eau chaude pour la douche. Cottage manque un peu de lumière et mal insonorisé.
