Royal Classic Resort

This is a cabana-style room with limited space. The room was clean, and the staff was very friendly. It is located a 10-minute drive from Kandy city. The food was satisfactory.

The room is quite small, and the bathroom is also very compact, separated by a glass partition. Unfortunately, odors from the bathroom tend to permeate the room.

Food was okay, restaurant staff was helpful. Front desk staff were trying to help as it was a fully booked busy day! The double room we booked was slightly above average and that’s fine with price which we paid. But the “family suite” was just un acceptable.

Booked 1 triple room & a double room (Half board basis) for a stay on 20 & 21 December. We made the booking around 7 days earlier. Once we got there, they’ve allocated a triple room which looked almost like a cave (Room 214). Due to obvious reasons we requested another room but the front desk informed us that no other rooms are available only a “family suit” is available and the half board rate for that is LKR40,000. As the name suggests, we expected that room to be better than the previous one and we paid the full amount. But that “family suit” was only a chalet with two double rooms and one bathroom. The beds were slightly larger than a kids bed and the AC was coming through the bathroom (the AC was mounted within the bathroom). The double room we booked was slightly above average and that’s fine with price which we paid. But the “family suite” was just un acceptable. There were no one to lead us to our room and help us with the baggage during both check in and check out. Please not that if you are staying this place with elderly people or some one who relies on wheelchairs, you’ll be facing a nightmare as this hotel is full of stares and random shapes in walking paths and corridors.
