Ahau Beachfront Tulum Hotel

We were looking for a quiet location that was easy to get to from the East Coast and had great beaches with a lowkey vibe, and we found it. We liked Ahau Tulum because it was small and under the radar. I am glad we chose the Beach Suite because the room was right on the beach with a large bathroom and two closets. Not all rooms are the same here and while you aren't in your room much, if you like a larger room with space, this is the ideal room for you. We love the hotel's location - walking distance to several nice restaurants - so we never needed to travel in a cab. The restaurant at the hotel was fantastic and there were plenty of healthy items. The hotel has a "wellness vibe" to it. We liked that yoga and meditation were offered each morning at no cost. Heads-up, some instructors make a strong request for a tip. I get it, but I do wish the hotel had mentioned that because I went without cash and didn't know that was an expectation. The beach is gorgeous - soft sand, beautiful water. There were plenty of chairs on the beach when we were there. The pool is pretty small, but it's not needed given the gorgeous beach. Only issue - and it's not the hotel's fault - they are near a beach club that is rocking at night. It is not our thing, and we heard the thumping late into the night. Would it prevent us from going back? No - but we will definitely bring a legit sound machine next time. So to summarize - yes - we will return, we think this place is a gem. Sergio is the best! Great place and amazing service! Would recommend this to everyone. Come enjoy! Make sure you ask for Sergio.

We stayed at Casa Ganesh nearby and they have an agreement with Ahau for breakfasts each morning. Our server Sergio was the absolute best- he knew me and my wife by name after the first few visits - had all of my wife’s allergies memorized , and knew our exact order. A highlight of each morning was being welcomed into what felt like a second home by Sergio! Kudos!!

Hands down the best spot on the hotel zone. The vibe, food and energy are difficult to explain, a must visit. Ahau is pretty unique and is my regular Tulum spot for meeting the local community.

The stuff was very nice and I liked to have breakfast there. Also, the view of the beach is very nice. we only went there for breakfast and stayed in a different hotel. The breakfast was delicious.

Sergio and the team at Ahau were brilliant and couldnt do enough for us! I would would always recommend this place for Tulum!

Love this place. All the staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Sergio and Christian. The hotel has a wonderful location right in the heart of town, but has a perfect beach spot and is peace at night. (Of course, there is noise from the nearby clubs after 10pm, but… it’s Tulum… that’s practically everywhere.) But, Ahua is great. Highly recommend. Ask for Sergio for breakfast with smiles :-)

Sergio was the best! Service impeccable. Ocean view from room 2 was amazing. Cozy warm place for the holidays! Can’t wait to return next year!

Very pleased with our stay at Ahau. The setting and service is superb. Would highly recommend this to anyone. The prices are a bit steep but you are paying for an intimate experience.

Delish food, impeccable warm and friendly service and you can’t beat the views. Ask to see Sergio and Rocio they are amazing
