I am not hard to please when it comes to motels while traveling. However, this place does not meet even minimum standards. The staff I encountered was rude, it feels like entering a jail to even walk in - with all the "DO NOT" signs and the security doors - the overall property is very run-down, there were no bath towels, the TV did not work, breakfast was stale coffee and stale muffins with very chemical-tasting juice. Further, the area feels very unsafe. When I went to the coffee bar at about 6 AM, the attendant was putting on his shirt so I got the unpleasant view of his bare torso. When I asked for a receipt, I was told I did not need one because I had pre-paid online. I pointed out that they had required me to give them a credit card for "incidentals" (there were no "incidentals" to consume) and I wanted a receipt to show that my card had not been charged. The person at the desk was very combative and I still did not get the receipt so now we are watching our credit card account to make sure something was not charged without my knowledge. Overall, I would advise avoiding this place.

As always I was pleased with the friendly service and amenities provided by this establishment. Check-in was a breeze. My room was comfortaKansas City Streetcar |ble and tastefully furnished. The Broadway 47 metro stops right in front, continuing north to Westport, The Plaza, CVS, Mc Donalds, Gates BBQ, etc, reaching a walmart supercenter at it's turnaround point. In the other direction is Crown Center, Union Bus Station, Downtown, The Kansas City Streetcar , The Power & Light District, and the Metro transit hub, with connections to worlds of fun, area casinos and other destinations of interest. You can leave your car in the well lighted parking lot and use the metro for painless transportation! Less than 100 feet from the entrance is an excellent oriental restaurant with a wide selection of delicious fare, a buffet, and delivery. In the office you will see several menus for wide range of local cuisine that can be delivered right to your door! America's Best at Linwood & Broadway is the best option for affordable lodging with superior access to the best that Kansas City Has to Offer! Three Thumbs Up!

Awful. Bugs and coaches, never again. Kids running everywhere all hours of the night, never will go back.

We chose this hotel after our other hotel fell through, and this was one of two options available in the area. Our stay was awful. Our room was dirty, we had no soap, there were bugs crawling on the floor, hair weaves into our towels, and one of the outlets was hanging out of the wall (both fire and electrocution hazards). Then around 3AM, a gun fight broke out in the parking lot. After calling 911, our hotel told us to “go back to sleep.” We will NOT be returning.

I liked that there was new paint, carpet, and bedding in the bedroom. I did NOT like the condition of the bathroom. There was a hole in the wall, cruddy stuff in the cracks by the wall and floor. The bathtub faucet kept falling off, there was no drain stopper in the bathtub, and the bathtub drain was very slow. No one made our bed, or refreshed the towels. We had to go to the desk to get towels. There was no hair dryer, microwave, and refrigerator. I guess we didn't expect a lot because of the price, but I do think the bathtub and mopboards in the bathroom should be fixed. The place did seem clean.

It never ceases to amaze me how people base their reviews on champagne tastes on a beer budget. I was in KC on a football weekend, We had reservations for dinner & drinks in the Old Westport area a mile South of the hotel. We were looking for a decent, safe place to sleep a the cheapest price we could without having to take a taxi/Uber from Westport to our hotel so we picked this one. For less that $100 in Downtown KC, we were very near where we needed to be and maybe a 20 minute drive to the stadium complex. My son had just bought a new Infinity in KC that afternoon and had no qualms about parking it at this hotel. The parking area was safe, monitored by surveillance, and in a decent neighborhood. We didn't think twice and even walked a mile to Westport straight down Broadway from the hotel without the least difficulty or encountering any "sketchy" people whatsoever. We didn't get a hearty welcome or a handshake from the attendant but we really weren't after one or offended that he didn't offer. He was polite, efficient, and got us checked in promptly.The non-smoking room did have a few burn holes in the comforter but there was absolutely no residual smoke smell anywhere. The carpet appeared clean enough (though I didn't inspect it with a fine toothed comb for debris), the bathroom was adequately clean and sized for one person at a time (we don't do group potty trips), and the A/C was perfectly functional if not a tad noisy but not alarmingly so. The beds were comfortable enough for a sound night's sleep. The hotel needs some updating but what doesn't? We were surprisingly very satisfied with our experience. It's a decent place and I would absolutely stay here again under similar circumstances and needs. From some of these reviews, you'd think that this was a serial killer hangout or a vampire lair in a ramshackle nuclear dump site. I'm pleased to report that this wasn't the case so - as always - take extremely negative comments about this hotel or any review with a grain of salt. I'm glad I did because I ended up with a good value.

There were a few minor repair issues but overall the room was fine. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom is tiny. Parking lot is adequate except when they let big trucks park there. Very quiet. No road noise at all. Close to several places to eat and not far from the Sports Complex (Kaufmann and Chiefs stadiums.) Have stayed there several times.

The staff was friendly, and the room adequate. However, I had lots of computer work to do while in town, and the WiFi was almost unusable. It kept dropping me, and was very difficult to get on. Part of the problem was your system's security certificates appear to be inadequate for my system's liking. I eventually had to leave my room, and go to a coffee shop to get any production. Also, the TV system has many, many stations, but without guidance, I had to simply channel surf to find any worth watching.
