We appreciated the ease of check in. Our room was VERY clean and comfortable, homey feel. By comparison to other places, I wished the beds were a bit softer, but loved the cool cotton sheets. Loved access to the kayaks and canoe down at the end of the street. Loved the close proximity to Sleeping Bear Lakeshore and Glen Arbor.

"Glen Arbor Vacation "

A very nice updated hotel just a few minutes from Empire or Glen Arbor. Easy to get in and to leave. The room was very quiet.

"Good location."

The location.

The shower has mildew and smelly. The room is stuffy. My allergy kicked in right away.

"Time out! "

10.0

My wife and I and our furry kid stayed two nights and loved it! First time to the area, we want to come back! Clean, quiet and out of the way. Their beach was near by with kayaks available. Fire pit and grills available for guests as well. Thanks

"Good kayaking spot for Glen lake and"

8.0

Location for kayaking on Glen lakes was great. We were able to kayak across lake to hike Sleeping Bear Dune. Clean family atmosphere.

No contact with anyone from the property; television did not work - which was okay but on the rainy day it would have been nice to access local weather. Map of area and local restaurants would have been of use. It would have been good to see how to access Crystal River from Glen Lake.

Maple Lane is the perfect place for people who want to do lakeside rustic cabin rentals but are too bougie for that. It is quaint and quiet with an โ€œold worldโ€ feel while also having easy lake access and a very walkable neighborhood. I thought I would feel weird about not having staff on site but it actually added to the camping adjacent feel. We loved our time here!

"Just plain odd and very over-priced."

4.0

The location was really good for access to northern Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes park.

The room was just plain weird. 2 queen beds (good) but there was a corner wraparound โ€œkitchenetteโ€ right in the middle with awkward open corner โ€œshelvingโ€ under the counter with a silverware tray, pots and pans and strainers all just sitting there. How about some cabinet doors, people? A sign in the room required guests to wash their own cups, plates and cookware, but there was no dish soap or sponge to be found. We only used two mugs and two glasses, and had to leave them dirty because of the lack of dish soap. For $300 or more a night essentially in the middle of nowhere, you would think that you wouldnโ€™t have to wash your coffee cup. I sleep like a log, but the air conditioner was incredibly loud kicking on and off all night long from the window, and the fridge made a strange humming sound on and off. When the light shone in the window in the morning, I could see an enormous amount of dust particles floating around in the sunbeam. The bathroom had leftover screw holes in the wall from where towel rods had been connected before. You wouldnโ€™t think it would be too much to spackle and paint over those for 300 a night. In addition, the owners and staff were nowhere to be seen. There are instructions to Check In that are supposed to be texted to you, which is a text I did not receive. You ultimately had to call the owners and then were told that Check In is simply you walk in your room and the key is on the table. So honestly, the whole place was just a little odd. The price is dictated by the fact that there are very few places to stay in the area. The building (more like a 2 story motel) was not right on the lake, but a few properties down from the water.
