Comfortable rooms that are widely spaced giving privacy. Very good value considering amount of food and time spent on game drives.

Everything was 100%. I read the reviews about ticks before we arrived but I can not confirm the problems. Yes, there are ticks in the park, you are in the bush! No, the safari vehicles are not infestated with ticks. The people are very nice, 4 meals a day of outstanding quality, great tents with outside shower. Etc. etc. I can go on forever. We had a very close encounter eith a herd of elephants. Our guide Vusi knew exactly what he was doing en had a lot of knowledge about the animals and also the birds

The pool area could use an update. The gameviewing was a bit disappointing but that’s nobodies fault. Have to be in the right place at the right time

Meals were healthy, well cooked, however lacking in any variety. After early morning game ride, we returned later than 3 hours, and health bread was finished, with no offer to supply to the guests. Three trucks came back later, due to sightings, so imagine there must have been others, who would prefer health bread.

First visit in 2013 exceeded our exportations - it was on a par with all game lodges, e.g. snacks on game drive, table covered with tablecloth during game drive. Attention to details on these small, but important points would provide overall ambience to the rides. These are constructive comments, that could benefit the stay.

Excellent. I am a vegetarian, and dont eat eggs, onion or garlic. they accommodated my diet with ease and grace. no issues. so accommodating and helpful. thank you

Tembe Elephant Park Lodge is a rustic experience that makes it good value for money. The staff are friendly and Carlos our ranger tried hard to find game sightings. The breakfast, lunch and supper are hearty foods with very little pizzaz. Wine list is very limited, no snacks on game drive and rustic presentation at drinks stop. Rooms are comfortable and enough plug points.

Not the fault of the lodge, but game viewing is very limited as the Sekel bush has overgrown the park. You drive from waterhole to waterhole looking for game and lucky if you have any sightings other that a few Nyala buck. At the swamps, where it is more open, you may find a few buffalo and the Marsh pride of lions. The lion prides have decimated the Zebra, Warthog, Impala and Gnu's. We saw three lone elephant bulls very briefly, four sub-adult male lions and one Giraffe. Best not to go expecting to see the big five. Most of the drive is spent identifying animal spoors that have gone into the thickets.

Loved the privacy of the accommodations, comfort of the rooms, friendly staff, excellent guide on our game drives. Really had the best relaxing time. Food was excellent, little treat stops in the morning with coffee and rusks was a bonus.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly staff, accomodation and the safari drives. Very knowledgeable safari guide who was friendly, great sense of humour and made the trip more special ( thank you- Philemon ). Would definitely return to Tembe and recommend it.
