Extremely proficiently ran hotel, in the heart of Weiden. Clean rooms, excellent meals and very nice staff. It was definitely worth the stay and I will stay here again. Very relaxing and extremely convenient.

Yes it was warm with the sun beaming into our room with only a noisy fan to move the air around, this is probably our 5 th stay here but this time it was uncomfortable. The owner apparently won't put airconditioning in because of the environment ???? The staff were fantastic and look after you like royalty nothing is a problem. They have a great laundry service and my suit was back the same day, breakfast as usual plentiful with great coffee or an expresso if you want The car parking is still tight under ground but I didn't manage to scrape the car this time round, however there is a public car park not more than a couple of minutes away which is easier to get into etc. All in all another good stay here but would think twice in the middle of summer

Having stayed here for approximately 5 years ago, it was interesting getting back. Luckily nothing had changed - it was still the same impeccable place with perfect service. The company I was visiting had booked the room last time I thought it large, but this time I got one of the suites on the top floor. The room was gigantic and with separate sitting area, high-rise ceiling and an huge bathroom with two entrances. I felt almost overawed by staying here, but also pampered in a very nice way. The usual catch - even the power outlets in the desk area turn off when you take the key card out of the holder - so if you have something to charge - put another credit card sized item in the card holder. The micro-brewery in the cellar still has really great beer - especially of the seasonal types!! Breakfast was also still in a completely different house, which means that you have to cross a small courtyard and up some stairs - the room is magnificent with a old tiled oven and huge exposed beams in the ceiling. Highly recommendable.

The Altstadt is a small hotel with 25 rooms right in the heart of Weiden. The front desk speaks great English and they have always been helpful- making dinner reservations, bike rental assistance and more. It is a block or two from the quaint marketplatz area with numerous restaurants and bars with outdoor seating. Great to be able to walk to dinner. The breakfast is good with tasty coffee (which surprised me), meats, cheeses, breads and cereals as well as scrambled eggs and bacon each morning. Wi-Fi is good here too. We ate at the attached restaurant and were pleased with the friendly service and good food!

A most lovely size and furnished hotel room, it was room 14 overlooking the pedestrianized street. Lovely large bathroom as well. Dinner was taken outside in the court yard with local people and most pleasant. Breakfast time you go up the stairs outside to like a built in balcony. Lovely breakfast spread. You are right in the centre which is very nice.

Nice Hotel in the center of Weiden. I was shocked when I found ear plugs on my side table in the room. Thanks and/or luckily I not found out the reason for it. There was no noise disturbance during my stay in the hotel. Breakfast is selective, service personal very friendly and always give help when it is need. Challenging is the car parking in the hotels own underground garage. The drive out require precise way which is difficult due to less space.

It only takes a few seconds to figure out why this is the top rated hotel in Weiden. From the check-in to the check-out, the service is friendly and efficient - really first class. The rooms are large, richly furnished, and clean. The free Wi-Fi connection is fast. The breakfast buffet is generous and tasty (and free). Oh, did I mention this place is also a brewery? They have an awesome restaurant with several kinds of freshly brewed beer that is sure to please anyone. The staff all speak English and they accept credit cards. And all of this for a very reasonable price. That's why you will have to squeeze in - this place always seems to be booked full. Heads-up though, the underground garage is serviced by a freight elevator that you have to drive your car into. If you have a full size SUV like me, then "squeezing in" to the hotel has as whole different meaning. Take it slow and easy with the elevator. The weather was unusually hot during my visit, so I would have rating this property 10 stars if they also had air conditioning...

The reception was very efficient and helpful. The hotel has an underground parking lot that is helpful as very little street parking is available. The hotel is located in recently renowated 300 years old house, located in the very center of the picturesc old town

Great location in the middle of the old town center. I was there in early December with the Christmas market just outside the door. Pros: - Well-kept, spotlessly clean, large rooms - Friendly staff - Great breakfast - Solid construction - couldn't hear room above Cons: - Church bells nearby ring regularly all night, then peal loudly for several minutes at 6 am every morning - no sleeping then! - Too-warm rooms, even in December with no heat on in the room. The thick comforter (no sheet or other blankets provided) was way too warm. Had to open a window to cool it off enough to sleep. - Dumbest WiFi setup I've ever seen at a hotel. On iPhone, the login isn't saved, so you have to re-enter the room number and password every time you connect. On laptop, the browser login throws up a warning that the connection is dangerous - turns out their SSL certificate expired months before my stay. I mentioned that to the staff and they dismissed my concern, saying it's "normal". Sorry, but SSL certificates are cheap and expired ones are NOT NORMAL. Finally, they only allow two connections to the WiFi, so if you have any more devices, you have to log one out - but the logout screen isn't available at all on your mobile device after you finish logging in.

The Altstadt Hotel BraeuWirt is located in the City Center of the nice old town Weiden in der Oberpfalz. The Location is excellent, only a short walk to lots of Shopping and Eating and Dining and Drinking in outside cafes. Weiden is worth a visit! The Hotel rooms are spacy and decorated very conservative, and the rooms are clean with good Service. But the breakfast could be much better with more choice. We came a bit later to the breakfast room and most of breakfast items were already gone We had to ask to refill it. Tables were not cleaned from guests before us.
