Selina Boavista Ericeira - Hostel

Location is prime, Service was attentive and friendly.

The room did not correspond to the one that I booked, which was absolutely disappointing.

Stuff is very friendly, clean, enough space to be outside, feels good like home! 🤓✌️

Everything was perfect, the hostel is clean, has a very comfortable common area with workspace, and restaurant, the breakfast was lovely. The staff was really friendly and helpful, some activities (like morning yoga) were not yet available since we visited in the low season, but the person at the reception made sure to find us a different yoga teacher just a few minutes down the road :)

Beds are comfy short walk to historic center.

The family-room description is lying about the Private bathroom. It ends up being a shared bathroom = we paid extra for less/more Sh*t. The small and rusty bathroom is outside of the room accessible from anybody in the hotel. After noticing people taking dumps and shower in our "private bathroom". We mentioned the staff to take actions. There is no sign saying the bathroom is shared or private. At least, put a piece of paper saying "private"... but the answer was "don't worry, the bathroom is often cleaned"... I paid for a PRIVATE bathroom not a shared dump. Anyway... good luck Selina. PS: Nothing was offered in regard of this issue.

I liked a view from terrace, and that this place has its own restaurant, in case of a bad weather you can still stay inside.

We stayed at family room at Selina Boavista Ericeira for a night on March 20-21, 2025. The reason we booked this room was because of a “private bathroom” that was mentioned in booking, same as in the picture of the room, which was not there. The guy at reception said that there was a renovation, but Selina didn’t change the advertisement and marketing description of the hostel, which I believe is a disinformation and misleading. if they did a renovation and didn’t have time to change marketing materials, they have to at least inform people about this at least after booking. We needed a private bathroom not only for personal use, but also for religious views. A guy at reception said he will talk to Manager Isabella. The next day we came back to hostel, and not only Isabella was not willing to solve this issue, but she was constantly insisting that “private” bathroom is there as stated in booking confirmation and room description, it’s just not inside of a room, but outside". There were two bathrooms outside of the room, but we were never given any key for personal use, nor we were informed that these two were “private bathrooms” as she mentioned, it was wide open for public use, which is not considered as “PRIVATE”, because we saw few people from mixed dorm rooms using both bathrooms. How is it private?? We found her unprofessional, as to our clear statement about being scammed over private bathroom, instead of trying to find a solution or talk to her manager, she asked us “what do you want me to do now?” She said there is a manager above her and she cannot do anything or decide. We asked to talk to Manager, to what she said he is having lunch and cannot come now and asked to send an email. So we never saw a bigger boss. It was a bittersweet feeling of being scammed. If you book a family room, you have to know that the picture of private bathroom is fake or old. There is no such private or even a public bathroom. Anyways, I contacted Booking for help.
