Didnt have room available when we got there. Parking was crowded. Small unit and bed

Randy is always very welcoming and helpful. Cozy and comfortable room, and 10 min walk to the beach.

Overall place was very clean and staff was easy to work with.

When we got there the room we booked through Hotels.com wasn’t available because evidently they weren’t even open for the season yet so they moved us to another location which wasn’t open yet either but they had a room ready so they put us there. They also charged us again even though we had already paid and it’s been 7 days but we still haven’t gotten our refund. The room was okay but the bed was miserably uncomfortable. The person working there or the owner or whoever the person was sat on the front porch right by our window late in the evening taking very loudly on the phone using curse words. Later in the night we couldn’t possibly sleep for all the commotion going on upstairs which seemed odd since they technically weren’t open yet. The kicker of them all though was that we didn’t have heat in our room we could only turn the air conditioning up high so the cold air wouldn’t come on but you had to go out into the hallway to get a remote control to change the temperature and then put the remote back out in the hallway! By the way I know some may think we’re crazy to need heat in June but it was 50 degrees in Maine that morning. Stay away from this place. The gentleman who greeted us was very nice and informative and the young man that helped check us in was nice but everything else was the pits!

I booked through Expedia and then the owner did not honor the price I booked at. He then told me I could cancel but wouldn't refund all of my money. He threatened me..."do not contact me again or you won't get your money....I promise". I still didn't get my money. The decor is quite nice if you can look past the filth and rudeness of owner

From the outside this is a very cute motel and the room décor is adorable and well done. Unfortunately, the rooms are not clean. There is a small kitchenette with some kitchen utensils, glasses, silverware, etc. The dishes are dirty and the utensils sitting out had a thick layer of dust. The decorative mats on the tables are stained. The walls and doors have dirt and grime. This is especially apparent when you close the bathroom door and have to look at the dirt and grime. The bath mat is a memory foam rug that was damp. The bed dips in the middle. Thankfully, we were there only one night. I can overlook most anything, but not dirtiness. We stayed at the property on the last night of our trip. We were originally going to stay the first night too, but on the day of our arrival the owner charged us more for the room than was booked and confirmed through Expedia. He said this was an Expedia issue and that we could cancel the room (which we did for the first night) and he would refund our money. So, we cancelled thee first night and kept our reservation for the last night of our trip. However, I wish I would have canceled that last night too as the owner did not refund the first night until I reached out several times and only then he refunded a partial amount. A month later and he still has not refunded the rest even though he said, "I will give you the stupid 50.00. Merry Christmas. Do not attempt to contact us again or you won’t get it. I promise."

The room was nice and cheery, with a little sitting area and kitchenette. The proprietor was hilarious, and he also offered good tips on restaurants and things to do. Great stay!

if I could give this place 0 stars I will. didn’t even make it into the hotel without the owner being incredibly rude and obnoxious! there are so many other places for you to stay at..wouldn’t recommend this to my worse enemy

The Sandcastle Inn & Motel We booked our stay at the Sandcastle Inn & Motel in October and paid for 2 nights, checking in on 10/1 and checking out on 10/3. The afternoon on which we arrived we parked in the only available spot in the parking lot. Attached to a chain link fence was a sign directing us to the office. I opened the gate and followed the path to a door that I thought was the office. I cautiously opened the door and entered a room that reeked of stale cigarettes and an ashtray filled to overflowing with cigarette butts. On a cluttered desk were what appeared to be reservations. I called out a greeting and soon Randy emerged from another room. After checking in Randy moved his car, opening a parking place in front of our room. As we settled in, we couldn’t help but notice that the room was filthy. Some of the furniture was wicker and we noticed human hair protruding from the wicker. We spent the night, but first thing in the morning on 10/2, well before checkout time, we packed and left. We left the key on the counter because there was no one in the office. On our way to another hotel, we called twice and left messages, alerting Randy to the fact that we left because of the condition of the room and had requested a refund for one night. Returning home from our trip we called Randy to again ask for a refund. He maintained that he did not have time to prepare the room for other guests, but that he would ask his wife for advice and return the call. He never did. We’re giving it one star because the room was filthy.
