Toyoko Inn Odawara Station

We spend a couple of nights here as a base for a visit to Hakone. The hotel is a short walk from Odawara station and the Castle is also within easy walking distance. We arrived a little early for check-in but were warmly greeted and helped through the registration process. The room was compact but clean and perfectly adequate. Breakfast was included and is taken in a busy area on the ground floor. The food is mostly Japanese as are most guests but we found plenty there to help us start the day. In the evening we explored the centre of Odawara which is close by. Plenty of variety is available but this was one place on our trip where Google Translate came in useful making the place feel a little more like authentic Japan. No problem in recommending this hotel for anyone staying in Odawara.

Room was tidy and clean. Bed could be bigger. We had real trouble sleeping with our kid in the same bed.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately we somehow got a smoking room and I tried to change, but hotel was full. It smelled like smoke on the whole floor and terribly in our room. Not sure if that’s because I booked through TripAdvisor. Bed was uncomfortable, but in great location.

Little dated compared to some other hotels. But for the price it was excellent value for money. Receptionists made us feel welcome and could speak English. Checking in and out was a breeze.

Good location, easy to access near train station and bus stops. Restaurants and convenient stores nearby. Single room is good size for one but if you have bigger luggage, you may need to play around with the space. Price reasonable and hotel provide breakfast :)

Excellent location and good rooms. The beds were definitely on the firm side and you may want to skip the industrial style complimentary breakfast buffet which had very limited western style choice.

Very good location 10 minutes walk to the train station and plentiful shops and restaurants nearby. Excellent facilities in the room and good choice of food for breakfast.
