Hotel Indigo - Winston-Salem Downtown by IHG

Parking was very limited in the area and valet had to use street parking for enough spaces. There was some dust in the corners of the room. The valet link sent to my phone didn't allow me to order my car in the morning so I walked down at 6:05am, but they weren't around. I waited a few minutes and they returned for their regular hours of 6am-11pm. The stay was fine, but I wouldn't choose this hotel again since it wasn't the best overall experience, but maybe common for a downtown Winston-Salem hote.

Easy check in. We self parked at a public garage that was near by, approximately 50 yards away. Valet was typically available but they were tied up. My car cost $12 for overnight parking (versus $26 for valet at the same garage not including tip). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was no refrigerator in the room and the ice machine was on another floor. Our room was typically quiet but doors opening and closing were audible. The staff was friendly. We went to a concert at the Ramkat, Ubered to the concert and walked back. The return walk took about 10 minutes.

I love this hotel. It is very reasonably priced and in a great location. The staff always goes above and beyond.

The corridors were super noisy in late night/ early morning hours and I could not get a good night sleep on the two nights I was there. The coffee machine had dust all over and looked liked was not wiped clean in several days.

Hotel Indigo was wonderful! Check in was easy, staff was friendly, and hotel is super clean. My room was spacious, decor was lovely. My daughter and I enjoyed breakfast in the cafe each morning. I would definitely stay again.

The Hotel Indigo is a modern hotel in downtown Winston-Salem, walking distance to restaurants and shops. We enjoyed our stay here, finding the rooms up-to-date and comfortable. The A/C system worked well – easily adjustable and not too loud, which can be an issue given how hot and humid it is in the South. The room had an annoying design, as there was insufficient clearance between the bed and the desk when in use. The front desk attendant was slow to process my check-in and, more importantly, always on her phone, a very bad look especially since there was no “front desk” to speak of – she was just out there, in a chair, on her phone. And then when we needed to valet the car during a rainstorm no one came. In sum, while the front end service was poor, the rest of the experience was fine.

The Hotel was REALLY NICE, however I felt it wasn’t enough staff The Room was clean all but the floors They needed sweeping and mopped The Restaurant ambiance and food EXCELLENT AGAIN, NOT ENOUGH STAFF

Disappointed for the money. Prepaid for breakfast took 30 min to get waited on. Only one server in entire dinning area Limited menu. Room okay…nothing special. Only 2 bath,hand and wash cloth.Pillows very hard. The location was convenient since we were there for funeral that was walking distance. $27.00 charge for valet parking decided to street park ourselves. Just not worth the room cost.

No refrigerator in room; and not impressed with bar service or restaurant menu. Huge portions; more than enough food for 2 people; and no where to store extra food. Total waste!
